This restaurant used to be really good but has gone downhill in recent years. Prices keep getting higher and higher but the food is the same or worse. Last time I ate food here I ordered an empanada with chicken and I found multiple pieces of inedible gristle inside

What once had a great vibe now has a nothing special and very political atmosphere trying to be a small Mexican Cantina in a small mountain town.It does have a better vibe when they have a band playing then just some afternoon having a drink with friends. The live music is the main reason for the 3 stars and why I would be back.The staff is just too political for my taste. Afterall I am not going to be there to hear a college student talk about politics when they have not been alive long enough to have a sound political view. They tend to go with whatever is trendy at the moment.

Casa is one of my favorite restaurants in Athens. The food is always well made, their seasonal menu is fun, and the prices are low enough that you dont feel bad after.

Unique restaurant. They have fresh selections and try to locally source as much as they can. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. About 30. Minute wait for a table on a Saturday night. Gave time to try some of their excellent craft beer selections.

Local, worker-owned, and awesome! Tips are included here, so just sit back and relax as the margaritas take effect. Love the puerco pibil, but its all good!

Great food, good atmosphere! I really like the food board that tells you when the food is ready.

Casa is a unique restaurant, run by the workers, that offers Mexican themed dishes prepared with farm fresh ingredients. The flavor is different than youd expect from Mexican style food. However, many people find it delicious as proven by the sometimes long wait times to get a table. The Bodega side provides a comfortable area to wait for your table with a full service bar.

On their best day, you cant get any better food in this town.

Always happy with Casa Nueva. It is a must-visit bar and restaurant when Im in Athens. The cantina menu is a nice option when youre looking for a quicker dining experience than the full service side of the restaurant. The infused liquors make for great cocktails. The hills deluxe is my favorite dish! I cant find a better salsa than Red Chile Roasted Garlic salsa here. The seasonal Garlic lovers black bean salsa is also to die for.

An Athens staple. You gotta visit if your in town. Reliable, locally produced Mexican inspired food, plus you can get Margaritas by the pitcher!

I visit Athens every 2 years or so for OU homecoming and sporadically other times of the year, and you can count on it that I will be there at least once at every visit.I like their food and the atmosphere, but most of all the fact that it is employee owned and everyone working there makes a decent living so they do not accept tips.

The food is great. Reasonably priced considering the tip is included in the price, but the bartenders dont know the price of half their drinks, so they arbitrarily charge you.

This restaurant is the reason it took me 10 years to move away from Athens. If youre looking for unique, DELICIOUS, healthy (and shockingly inexpensive) dishes made from locally sourced organic ingredients and served in a charming, relaxing atmosphere, you really cant do better than Casa. A lot of people on here are complaining about wait time: its called SLOW FOOD, if you value speed over substance and taste then go to McDonalds or BW3s; itll speed up the wait times for those of us who appreciate real food. :)

A must go when we visit Athens. Without exception.
