Its a bit of a steep hike, a good workout if youre coming from the column. You can go all the way through to the trail head if you have someone go back up for the car, which is what we did.

Beautiful, super easy, with several mud bogs along the walking path after a good rain (bring your waterproof boots). Healthy, but not overwhelming, incline all the way to the turnaround and super wide path for family walks. Path splits and its a little confusing whether to choose the bridge or stay on the path: go on the bridge because the path wont get you all the way to the great tree spot.
