Very informative visitor center and a good place to learn about the sights and culture of the area. There are a few trails near the center where you can hike. You will have to take a drive to experience the different sites in the Heritage area because it is fairly large. Music, crafts, festivals, agriculture, historic sites.

Beautiful place with tourist info, trail info and gifts. Clean restrooms and super knowledgeable folks to help you. Trail heads are right out the door..dont miss it. Were lucky enough to live in Asheville and love the trails in the Blue Ridge

Great place..we hike everyday along different parts of the trail system..we love living here in Asheville. Stop and check out the maps and trail system for a hike that is perfect for you. Please dont miss it.

They close main building up and put plastic toilets outside.

Called about gold panning info in N.C. national forest the lady i talked with was very informative and also directed me to more information on their website

The center has some nice educational info and a cute video. The staff was helpful (if not enthusiastic). We did the hiking trail loop which was surprisingly lovely for being along side the parkway. We say a box turtle, two large beetles and lots of interesting plants.

Interstellar history and stories of the area and background of the Parkway. Good Gift Shop too.
