A nice place for faculty, staff and students to work out. Excellent gym equipment. The UTA MAC also has protocols in place to minimize COVID-19 spread and exposure. I feel like its a safe place to work out.
This is wonderful place with full accessibility for Disabled and senior citizens beautiful center with amazing facilities available for workout and study of workouts and wheelchair basketball facilities track and Field available. Cycling facilities. I love my time during my global sports mentoring program under mentor Doug garner. I wish I can go back there and learn more. This is one of my favourite place to study and practice. Go Mavs.
Good lighting, clean, good variety of weights and machines.
Great. In and out voting!
The MAC has quite a bit of activities, so much so that it actually surprised me, like an indoor soccer court. Its free for UTA students so theres nothing to lose if you are one. There are lots of weight machines to workout but some spots you will have to wait for, for instance where there is only one fly machine. Overall great experience!
A great place to mav up and enjoy with friends. UTA offers great options for their student so that they can remain fit and healthy
Very satisfied with the service. The staff are very welcoming. I wish they only offer weekends early service.
Exercising can be fun. I almost broke my arm maybe. I feel warmer though when before I felt so cold. My arm isnt broken. :)
This is a huge facility located in the UTA campus. You can go there to play, workout, study or just to watch some TV. They lend all equipments for sports, workouts and even video game consoles.Membership is required to enter the facility so be sure to carry your ID cards at all times. The gym upstairs is huge with all the equipment and machines you can think of. The gym is usually is full in the evenings so be sure to plan your visit for a workout.
The place was, what we call, definition of awesome. MAC had everything thing, you name it - Running Tracks, Swimming Pool, Basketball Courts, Climbing Wall and much more. The staff who are generally students are kind and courteous. Thanks for making my experience so great.
Its really a great to University students and faculty to relax, enjoy and rejuvenate themselves and also be fit...
Excellent rec center! We held a yoga a training there and would definitely do more!
Cant believe that Ive been paying for the MAC for the last 3 years and havent used it until now. Not bad
Very poorly kept facility. Has a lot of potential but ITA doesn’t fix anything that’s broken. I guess all our school fees go towards something else...
Great place to workout, has a bunch of other activities for you to do, it has a track, indoor basketball, sand volleyball, indoor soccer, outdoor basketball, rock climbing wall, billiards, game consoles, indoor volleyball, ping pong, need I say more. Only downsides are it gets pretty crowded during the semester and you have to pay if youre not a student, but I guess thats at any gym.
This facility offers every amenity possible! State of the art equipment, knowledgeable and friendly staff! Perfect venue to host large scale events!!
It is a great gym. Unfortunately a lot of patrons dont have good hygiene. An example of this is the smells in the weights area.
This facility has plenty of multipurpose courts and a wide variety of workout equipment and machines.
Its the MAC! Best place on campus. It is well managed, spacious, clean, and safe. There is so much to do. I go every day and play basketball and then strength train. There is a culture of friendliness here as well- probably because everybody in there is in a good mood from all the endorphins released during their exercises!
Good supply of equipment. Showers in the locker room could use a bit of a fixing here or there.
Our basketball teams play here once a year and we bring the teams back at night for the Mav game. The staff is very courteous and our students love being able to play on the AAC floor. It’s always a fun time and the community is so gracious in putting these events on for high school teams.
Very nice place to play basketball.
If I could give them negative stars, I would. The intramural fields were booked for a large event (w/ over 2000 people) for months. It rained briefly the morning of the first day and the fields were dried within a few hours. However, the supervisor of the MAC was stubborn and persistently refused to let us use the fields as agreed. We had higher ups of our event examine the fields and found that they were completely dry and playable. Absolutely ridiculous.
The MAC is cool. Theyve got a large variety of exercise machines, free weights, pools, courts, a rock climbing area, and you can even rent video game consoles with an ID.Since its on campus, 99% of the traffic is university based. Most everyone is polite and observes proper etiquette with regards to sharing equipment and wiping down areas after theyre finished.Admission is included with tuition for students. For alumni like me, its $35 a month, no contract. That was a big selling point when comparing it to other options in the area, like 24 hour fitness and the like. Being able to pay as you go without being required to pay several months in advance or commit to a dodgy contract is a great feeling.
Great place if you wish to stay active throughout your study period here at UTA
Good place to refresh yourself with sports.
This place is the perfect place to keep you on shape
This place has everything! Indoor pool! Indoor track! Treadmills! Every piece of werkout equipment you need. This place is always fully staffed. The atmosphere is nice and open. Hands down one of higher quality gyms for students.
Great facility! Nice upgrade for UTA. 4 courts or two bigger ones, lots of workout machines and a training room. They even have the water fountains where you can refill your water bottle. Came here for AAU basketball event.
Everything from games to your daily physical fitness. Love it!
The facility is state of the art and completely wheelchair accessible. A centrally located elevator provides convenient access to the second level. The restrooms and the locker rooms are wheelchair accessible. Pleasant experience!!
Great gym and lots of sports and games activity center
As a student at UT Arlington this is a great place for a free workout and even to swim and have fun or just hang out. The gym itself I dont believe is the best quality with maintenance but you got to I think that most people that come here are new gym goers and just love to hear the Smashing of the weights when they finish a single rep on a machine. But honestly any gym equipment you need they have great place to work out especially if youre on campus student UTA in general.
Oh wow, this is a really amazing place
I am not really mean person. Giving out rude reviews. but this white girl in the maverick info. center was very rude. I did not like her attitude. I simply asked her question and she sounds very discourteous. Also she was very unprofessional. She sounded very entitled and just insulting.
Crowded, dirty, and the equipment is old
Awesome place fro recreation and fitness
Here from So Cal for US National Football. Very nice campus and facility.
Always clean, equipped, and friendly staff. The Work out equipment is amazing!
I just saw my daughter get hooded for her masters degree here. This is is the best auditorium in town!
I have been at UTA for over three years and I never took advantage of the free mac center! The equipment is very user friendly, there is something there for everyone whether you want to be fit or not. Love the atmosphere of the place, it is very large and wide. The staff are very accommodating,it makes you feel welcomed.
This is a big building. There are multiple basketball courts, gymnasiums, pool halls, tracks for gettting your daily steps in, theres a rock climbing hall and a pool as well! There are tv screens and computers through out the place, and of course a gym to get buff in. Wish there was another building like it on the other side of the bridge!
Solid gym, a little cramped with the way the machines are laid out. Good gym for all walks of life. But the cardio area is insanely good. They have literally anything you could ever want.
Its best place to play games in UT Arlington
Great facility has everything you could want, but weight room area is probably to small for the current student population though. If you go anytime between 4pm-9:30pm during fall and spring the place is packed. During the summer it would great if the facility was open to paying members on Saturday. The faculty is closed to members on Saturday through mid May to late August unfortunately. Also having a parking permit option that is reduced for MAC members who are not current students, but are members from being alumni or spouses of faculty/students etc would be great as an implemented program. If you dont have a permit you will definitely get a $35-50 citation.
Beach Volleyball certainly is the best part at MAC
Its not just your own motivation but when you see other highly motivated people around you, you work even harder. Thats best thing about being here at MAC.
Good place. Sometimes the employees dont feel like doing doing their jobs very well, but that how 20 year olds with jobs are I dont hold it against them. This place closes a lot too, more often than any other gym Ive been too, Ill show up and the gym is closed for some event/minor holiday. Haha
Lot of games. Awesome gym. Indoor pool, soccer court.
Great place to play and work
Best recreational Centre with a wide range of activity!
Obviously the best part of UTA is MAC. Huge area with almost every amenities.
Lively and active spot on campus.
Few sports equipment need to be changed with new ones. And a better staff at gym is required
Facility is great but its closed practically every other day and I can never get a decent workout in in the morning. I recommend considering going somewhere else if you like working out on a regular basis
It is crowded but it is cool
Best place at UTA for activities and exercising
Good place to get fresh
Very well equipped sports center
Basketball Tournament was the best ever! Should be a monthly event!
High quality fitness center. crowded on peak hours so be aware of that. staff was rude to me one time because I had a snack (theres vending machines everywhere and every ones carrying around snacks so I dont know why that angry white girl was pressed over some gummies.) other than that, great facility.
Yall its so dirty lol I dont work out here and Im a Kines major. I go to a different gym because the machines are so sweaty and hairy.
State of the art facility with every kind of equipment and are you can think of. Love this gym!
Home of the Mavericks .Good place to break a sweat and do olympic lifts and do the punch bag
Spent a lot of time here. Find a group of people to hangout with, and you’ll love this place.
LOT OF FUN GOING ON THERE! GREAT FOR SPORTS AND RELAXATION
Very nice facility
Free gym is always good...but could be a 24/7 service.
There are not a lot of people between 10am and 2 pm. Perfect times to workout.
Great gym for students
Great atmosphere and it has everything youd want in a gym! Ive been there a few times when the locker room could have used a more thorough cleaning, but other than that its nice with plenty of equipment and a larger sized indoor track.
We worked an event here and the staff was amazing. Students were cool and enjoyed the freebies provided for them.
Nice and roomy.
Coming from a UTA Student: This is a nice building to do a lot of activities. There are always basketball games being ran so you can just form a team and call next game. 4 courts in total so a lot of space to play. Volleyball, rock climbing, blizzards, indoor soccer, outdoor basketball, sand volleyball, bad mitten, weight room, HUGE cardio area, and a small indoor track. Weight room can be messy as the weights are scattered everywhere and not really organized. Tend to be crowded just depending on what time you go.
Not a professional staff with some people providing really rude services.
A great place to refresh yourself with various indoor sports and gym activities.
For 5 stars the gym will have to go above and beyond service, but none the less it is a good place to workout or enjoy the facility
This building has it all: a gym & track, a pool, volleyball and basketball courts, Rockwall, yoga and dance classes, and massage therapists
- Most active place of University of Texas at Arlington- Only for people with young hearts- Has all sorts of games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Indoor & Outdoor Swimming and gym- Staff comprises of UTA students- This is basically heat of the university- The place is well maintained- Equipments for playing the game are also provided
Awesome for mavericks!
Awesome staff, locker room and gym. Wes the massage therapist here is a very helpful and awesome person also!!
Omg I love this center it was clean, it was run well and there were 6 basketball courts for us to use during the tournament we were playing on.
Best gym Ive ever been to
Humongous place to spend with your loved sport and where gym functions like a hub to it so for each gym freaks will be gratified by getting used with it
It’s straight bro . The staff be lazy but I don’t blame em, they don’t pay them much of nothing .
All the lifting equipment is good, but theres not enough when the gym rush comes in. Great place to workout late at night or early in the morning. Difficult to workout on weekday afternoons unless you just want to do cardio.
One of the best recreational building I have seen till now.
I am a student at UT Arlington, I enjoy running and boxing, but I do not enjoy the cold, so the MAC is perfect. With an indoor track and everything else you need to have a great work out.
Amazing gym. Great equipment. Free lockers upstairs. About $25/semester for a private locker. Annoying to wait for squat racks during peak hours.
Neat place!
The second floor has gymnasium and a running track. First floor is wide and has many different courts for different games such as table tennis, basketball, pool, wall climbing, etc. It has printing facility for Mavericks and a Wells Fargo ATM.
Awesome gym. Just dont like the weekend hours. Needs to be open earlier.
