Jason Russell was my 7th great grandfather, so Ive been particularly interested in his history, including his home (Arlington Historical Society at corner of Mass Ave and Jason St) and his gravesite near Mass Ave and Pleasant St. Its surprising that Jason Russell (as well as several other colonists who died in the skirmish at his home on April 19, 1775, the day of the first battle of the American Revolution) havent received more attention, in light of the number of colonists and British who were killed or injured during the fighting there. Weve heard much about Lexington and Concord, but theres been so little shared about the fighting at Arlington (then known as Menotomy.) The home and cemetery are both well worth a visit. See the Arlington Historical Society website for more info.
