This is a great hidden gem where you can feel distanced from the city and in nature with water around you without going too far.I drive my electric RC cars here which dont make much noise and there are a variety of terrains to use.Generally not too much trash but it could use a little more attention and tidying by staff and park users. Please take some trash away if you see it and over time this will be better for all ... we do too!

This place is a great value to the community. The park is a part of the emerald necklace bicycle path network. I am of the opinion bicycle paths should be maintained the same as all other road ways thus walk, and bike access should be open at all times. This park often has the walk/bike gate closed at night. Otherwise I would have given the additional star.

This park is very refreshing and has a lot to offer even though not very large. I once saw someone catch a 30 inch long catfish in the lake. its a great place for a quick exercise and very scenic during different seasons. Has picnics areas with barbecue stands and bathroom open during operation. Good size front open space for ample parking. Have fun very near to you.

I love this park because of its dedicated bike lanes, you can ride by the lakes and trough the greens. The water bodys make you feel relaxed and the views are awesome. They also attract a lot of different kinds of birds witch you can admire. There is also a children playground and green areas for picnic. Best park in El monte city.

We visit this park often, as its very close to our neighborhood. Technically walking distance, but we usually choose to ride our bicycles over, or drive if we are taking our dog for a walk (she tires a bit more easily). There are several picnic pavilions and a restroom along the main parking area, and you can follow the boardwalk trail to the intracoastal waterway. Its about a quarter of a mile, a very easy walk for most anyone. At the end of the trail, theres a nice shaded pavilion on a wooden deck, which many people enjoy fishing from. There are some small trails going out to the mangroves and along the shore from the pavilion. If you sit still on the stairs for a moment or two, fiddler crabs seem to come out of everywhere. Its so fun to watch them. When tide is low, you can see the artificial reef balls along the coast by the deck.My only additional comment is that if you are bringing your dogs here, KEEP THEM ON A LEASH! NO excuses! This isnt the place to let them go roaming freely, and its easy to turn a corner on the boardwalk and be right next to another citizen enjoying the park with their own dog. Follow the rules, be a responsible dog owner so we can all enjoy the park. Having your dog off-leash at this park for any reason is an extremely rude thing to do.

Ga

It so so. To many homeless makes it kinda scary to walk alone or with your dog

Je
Review №61

I have been fishing here for the past 10 and I havent seen the water level as high as it has been over the last few weeks. Water clarity has improved and the bass bite and carp are hitting all over the lake. Nightcrawlers seem to be one of best right now to fish with. Best fathers day ever....

Free place to fish. Was trying for bass with no luck. Be nicer if I wasnt spooked by all the homeless/drug users popping out the bushes as I looked for better fishing spots. But the park is clean. Weird thing the day I went a guy was doing circles in the lake with his boat. Didnt get the purpose. But he kept at it.

Its a park, but more of a conservation park. Dont go there expecting big grass fields because thats not what it is about. It has native grasses and plants so they dont need constant watering. It provides an area to observe ducks, geese and other wildlife. It also allows you access to the bike path for jogging or biking. Picnic tables and benches are sprinkled through the area.

I recently discovered this park when my boyfriend and I picked up some to-go food, cuz I drove into this park to have our lunch. There are several picnic tables and barbecue grills. The grills were very dirty, so I would expect if anyone was to use them they would definitely have to clean them up. But besides that, there was very pretty landscape, lots of trees with some picnic tables within the pretty landscape and some on the other side below the shady trees, and you also had a view to the river wash n the bike trail. I also like the fact that there was a sheriff parked at the entrance to the park, and made me feel safe... like they were looking out for us. Like I said, I just discovered it, but hope to go back and check it out more.

Peck Road Park is actually a water conservation area. Rain water and run off fills the lake and slowly drains through the sand and gravel bottoms. Its a nice place to bring the kids or just go for a long walk or jog. Theres plenty of benches and many with Bbqs. The restroom are well kept. And its free.
