Exactly what this area needed. A quality coffee shop with tasty sandwich options and outside seating. Very happy to have this in the neighborhood.

Definitely one of my favorite places to go in Arbutus. It may look like a quaint little coffee shop, but it also does a really good job of catering to the UMBC students. I am always able to find a place to study and grab a good bite to eat. This time I got a delicious strawberry smoothie and croissant. I will be back soon for more!

Nice place. Food is good. Needs to be managed a little better. Both times I went too way to long to get food and drinks. They ran out of ingredients on both occasions. Would love them to stay in the neighborhood.

What a cool space! Its massive inside, with a room for community events and lots of seating. Coffee and hot chocolate are both good. Hours start at 6 am. Lots of outlets at every table for working/studying!Most prices for a large drink are no more than $4.75.

Love this coffee shop!! Delicious coffee that is bird-friendly and sustainable, welcoming ambiance, beautiful art displays that support local artists, and the baristas are friendly. Definitely recommend going here for a quick drink, relaxed date, or cozy study space.

Im from NY, land of great food and coffee indulgence. We bought a tins of whole beans from OCA Mocha at a community event. It was sooo good. Tried to limit to 1 pot per day, but, alas, ran out. We are ruined for making due with all supermarket coffees. I was miserable for a week, trying different brands that just disappointed. Everything tasted like bleh. I daydreamed and longed for their organic guatemala. No choice, had to drive over to Arbutus and get 2 more. Hands down, the product they sell and serve here is superb!

I am so happy to have this gem in the neighborhood! The students who work there are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The sandwiches are very good and the drinks are better than commercial coffee chains. I also love that they have oat and almond milk.

This place opened shortly before covid so I dont have a full experience. It was nice to be able to eat outside in the rain and not get wet. It had a relaxed feel. A little expensive. Looking forward to the full experience.

They carry a lot of milk options, theyre knowledgeable and skilled baristas, and theyve got a great signature drink. All around top coffee spot.

Pros:Best coffee shop in the area. This is a place that understands how to brew good quality coffee without resorting to just packing beverages full of sugar. The coffee is strong, balanced, and well brewed. The Matcha Latte is likewise not super sweet, and is easily the best matcha latte Ive had in Maryland. The macciato is lovely and has a great velvety texture. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and theres lots of space and large tables to work. I love that they have constant local community events (poetry, open mic, kareoke, etc).Cons:I normally wouldnt mention this but the lighting here really puts me off. The counter is way too bright while the rest of the rooms lighting is way too dim making the tables feel dreary and the counter feel like an interrogation at a warehouse. Finally the windows seem WAY too bright (it hurts my eyes) because of how dim the light is at the sitting area. This place desperately needs a lighting designer to fix this place. The lighting is uncomfortable to me, and might not be the best place for work/studying.Not much in the way of pastry. :(

Got an iced mocha and a southwest retriever. The coffee was ok but the sandwich was damn good. The place is a bit out of the way for me but I will probably be back for lunch sometime

Simple but exceptionally well-executed menu. We loved the variety of vegetarian options and ordered the mediterranean salad, caprese sandwich, and 16th seed sandwich. All were fresh with balanced flavors.The order took 10 additional minutes past our scheduled pick-up time, which was mildly irritating. However, I wouldnt have minded the additional time had I been aware of it when submitting my order. As Ive seen a couple other reviews noting similar experiences, I recommend updating your online ordering system to account for longer preparation times.Also, not a complaint, just a tip: neither of the sandwiches were sliced fully, which probably means your knives need to be sharpened.

I cant begin to describe how much I love OCA Mocha. The atmosphere is urban, chic and intimate. You are welcomed by the friendly staff that goes above and beyond with their incredible service. I love listening to live music in the evenings and having quiet lunches with friends. The Oca Mocha is a signature drink that encompasses the vibe of the venue. Warm, comforting with a surprising spice! I love the fresh cookies, the ambrosia of the beverages and the menu. Truly a gem for the community! A must experience!

Awesome space. Cool vibe. Great, flexible hours that other local coffee shops dont have. Ordered an iced coffee with mocha but didnt have enough syrup in it. Went back to the register and the barista had no problem giving us more. Most other places would make us pay 25 or 50 cents more for extra syrup. Definitely want to come back to try sandwiches and check out their extensive event schedule.

I was so happy to find out about this place the other night. I echo the other person who said “finally!” It’s great that Arbutus now not only has a cool chill coffee shop, but also one with environmental awareness. The signature coffee drink Oca Mocha was delicious. It was on a game night and people in the community room were having a good time. I was impressed to they had an art show that dealt with pollution in the bay. I will be back for sure.

Nice new place. Really good nitro cold brew. Good for getting work done. Most cafes dont have booths but this one does. They help provide a nice isolated space for yourself and all your stuff you might bring with you while you work, compared to small tables on one long shared couch at Starbucks. They also have nice large event room in the back thats open while not reserved if you prefer that, or can reserve it for your own kind of small event.

Finally Arbutus has a coffee shop!! Love this place and what theyre doing for the local community. I am always greeted warmly and enthusiastically as soon as I walk into the door. Coffee is great, hours are convenient, and they have a bring your own mug discount, which I greatly appreciate because not every coffee shop does.

What a great place. Not only great a great selection of barista drinks but also a great experience. Hard to believe that we have such a jewel of a place right in our own backyard. Amazing!!!Must try once. This place is exactly what was needed here.

Only one employee working, really backed up service. I waited for at least 15 minutes for my order to be taken with only 1 person ahead of me in line. The coffee was good, but not worth the long wait.

Cool coffee / meeting / chill out spot on the main drag in Arbutus MD...this day had a Cattails Dark Roast by Chesapeake Coffee... great stuff...there was a meeting in progress, an interview going down and a student studying while moi was grooving to the background music...

I had a fine sandwich yesterday that was vegan, and delicious! I was so surprised that they offered this on the menu and it was great! The price was very reasonable too! My new place to hang!Al

Staff was so friendly and did an amazing job making our experience great! Wonderful hot drinks and sweet treats. We will definitely be going back to take our UMBC student out for a tasty snack.

Great place. Great coffee. It can be a bit noisy sometimes especially for a spot that is intended for studying. But overall worth the visit.

The pictures dont do it justice. Im an alum and wish a place like this was around when I was at UMBC. The coffee tasted great, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Great place to hang with friends or do schoolwork. Definitely worth checking out at least once.
