Pinball Petes is where its at! Take a step back in time when you descend down the steps and our basked in the neon glow of nostalgia! with a huge selection of retro arcade and pinball games including some of the newest out there it really is the place to be in the heart of a college town. you could easily go down one of the aisles and it could be a filming location for a Film set in the 80s! The staff was very friendly and all the machines were working! Nothing was out of order and the place was very well kept. it is truly a place for people of all ages to come visit especially younger generations who never really got to experience what an arcade is! I would even consider this to be a living museum and a must see if you are going anywhere near Ann Arbor just make sure you got your quarters ready and settle some top scores!
You have street fighter 3, marvel vs capcom 2, and the good DDR games. anyone who puts less stars than 5 is out of their mind.
This place is LEGENDARY. Its like a trip through a time machine and so nostalgic. I wish there were more of these. I drive almost a hour to come here but its always worth the drive. I could live here.
My girlfriends and I went out for a birthday celebration and we had so much fun!! HUGE thank you to Josh, he was so helpful and really made our night memorable! I don’t write reviews but I just had to. Josh was fantastic (he deserves a raise)! Thank you Pinball Pete’s for a great night.
Super great mix of retro and modern arcades. This place is always well kept, and the staff here is beyond accommodating when their machines malfunction. Even as a non-local, Ive come here more times than I can count. Great time for people of all ages!
A woman named Kayla was super nice and helped us with the machine when there was an issue printing our tickets. The variety of games here is amazing; theres plenty for both individual games as well as team ones. If youre going for max tix, I would recommend the game where you roll a token onto a truck and hit a sign for the big bonus. Great experience overall!
I recently went to Pinball Petes and consequently had my world flipped upside down. The service, friendliness, and overall professionalism of the man working the counter, Seth, was the driving factor in this out of body experience. I not only was given exactly what I expected from a desk worker at 2 in the morning at a arcade in the middle of Michigan on a Saturday, but had my expectations blown out of the water by Seths overall charisma and dedication to the customer. I recommend that he be given a large compensation for the positive value he adds to Petes. I will continue to come to this fine establishment because of the way Seth treated me, and I will continue to recommend this place to all of my friends and coworkers.Thank you,Sincerely, your loyal customers,Luke and Julia
Great pinball machines. They have about 50 pins. All were in excellent condition, clean, and everything working on all the machines. They maintain their machines well here.Mostly newer pins with a number of video games, pool, done hockey, and several nice air hockey tables. And of course a handful of the machines that spit out tickets but not many of them thank goodness. My 14 year old son and I both loved it
Always a fun time.Recommend the classics and air hockey. They even have two picnic benches in the back so you can chill with police trainer.
How can you not love Pinball Petes? Really I only have two complaints, 1) its RIDICULOUSLY hot in the summer 2) a lot of times machines eat quarters or dont spit out tickets but obviously thats expected and isnt a huge deal because the staff are always good about giving you quarters back or making sure you get the tickets you deserve. Always fun, me and my friends go here all the time.
I love this place, always have a great experience. Are they open now due to corona or are they still currently closed?
Josh the arcade attendant is so cute. now we’re married. best love story ever. 10/10 would recommend
Lots of fun, lots of variety in the games available!
This arcade has a huge selection of a ton of old school classics. I was surprised and a big overwhelmed at the selection they had. Didnt realize how much it opens up downstairs. We had fun trying a few games here and I wish we had more time. That being said the games were on the expensive side with a good many around $1 a game. That was just nuts to me but i understand that is the sole income for the place.
If youve got 40 dollars and 2-3 to have fun. This is the place. Theyve got plenty of easy to win jackpots and lots of quarter games for the cost conscious.
If you like pinball, this is the place to be!
Lots of games to play, much larger than the Lansing location. Almost everything was in good functioning order. Plenty of games other than pinball. Family friendly, during the day when we were there anyway.
Ive been coming here since middle school and still stroll through with friends occasionally at age 38, haha. Nostalgia brings us back here every now and then.
I really enjoyed myself here. When I heard pinball Petes I thought it would basically be a museum of sorts of old games but they had a lot more games with modern sensibilities than I thought. There were plenty of dance dance revolution machines so I never had to wait in line to use the machines. There were even seasoned dancers practicing away without affecting me at all. They had plenty of pool tables and a wide variety of the kinds of games people want to play. It was a fun time and Id definitely go again.
Pinball Petes is a great old time arcade spot, with a massive collection of Pinball machines among many other games. One of the best activities in Ann Arbor and a go-to date spot for UM students.
A very colorful and fun arcade with many game machines and other games to play in inside a game room that is also located right next to the University of Michigan campus. The environment and design of the game room makes it a very fun place to be in.
This place is lovely!! Its very fun. And has lots of games to choose from for adults and children. I had a good time here. And the staff is very friendly!
My son loves it here! Games are affordable, dont have to wait for pool tables either
My sister and I had a blast playing pinball great selection of games!! A little pricey on some games but still so fun
Fun place good prices
Fun place, the arcades are all well kept and clean, they have a bunch of classics like Donkey Kong, Mario, Frogger, TMNT, Simpson, TMNT in Time, Street Fighter 2 and others. Plus linked Daytona USA 1 and 2 and a bunch of other games. They take qtrs. Most games cost .50 cents or a dollar to play, all the pinball machines were a dollar. Also some arcades were original and a few had newer lcd screens inside. And many nice pool tables, and air hockey tables.
The countless nights of walking along State Street and University Avenue during the spring, summer and fall with friends always to stumble into Pinball Petes and hang for hour after hour playing air hockey, basketball, skee-ball or pinball brings back so many memories. Wish I still lived in the area to take new friends to experience Pinball Petes.
If any of the games are broken and cause you any inconvenience, be sure to tell the staff. They are truly wonderful. There are so many classic arcade games. I truly had a great time here. Also the retro aesthetic is awesomeeee
His is amazing place.I did DDR and arcade game, and also gun shot game.It was so so fun and I wanna go again for sure !!
Pinball Petes has one of the BEST vibes. Out of all the arcades ive been to, I could easily spend the longest time in here. They have updated arcade games and a ton of classics as well. I jumped from Tron to Mario Kart and then to Star Wars all within the same hour. My only complaint is that almost every game is priced at $1.00 and I wish they could have a more diverse pricing strategy. Like $20 for an hour of unlimited pinball games or something along that lines. I got tired of carrying a cup of $20 worth of quarters all night. - Besides that - a TON of fun.
This is by far the best arcade Michigan has to offer. Ever go to an arcade and play for an hour and feel like you played everything they have to offer? This is the place you leave feeling like you didnt get to play everything you wanted to play. There is no filler cabinets in the place and everything is well taken care of by people who love arcades. Love this place.
I used to love pinball petes but the young guy who works there is very rude to customers and turned a fun night with friends into a bad one. The owners should stress the importance of customer service to the employees. ( i didnt want anything from him and he got aggressively angry)
A magical and retro adventure for all ages. An ATM would be convenient so bring cash.
A great selection of classic and contemporary arcade games. Most are kept up well. Per the namesake, it has a nice smattering of pinball machines, too. A perfect college hangout.
Best Place for reasonable arcade games. Kid friendly. DDR and everything you could imagine. 50ft space invaders....GO!
Shout out to my man, Itchysackmaster, for being our best customer this quarter. You will get free tickets next time you come.
This place is definitely fun and is great for retro video games. Lower rating because I went here with a group and it was literally 90 degrees in the building. We were all drenched in sweat by the time we left which was only about an hour because we couldnt take it anymore.TL;DR: Fun but no AC
Intense nostalgia. Like one of the most epic and awesome arcades of the Reagan administration era but with tons of modern games along side the classics. There are not enough places like this left in this country.
Great environment, staff and cheap way to have a good time.
Love all the old pinball machines! Guy rounded up our tickets from 370 to 400 which was super nice!
Super fun cozy arcade in downtown. Employees are really nice. They have an amazing selection of pinball machines as well as other arcade games.
Ive loved Petes for a long time. Glad to see its still around
Pinball Petes is super fun and is relatively cheap, they charge you based off of the games you play with many games being about 50 cents. You can get tickets from certain games and turn them in for prizes like other arcades. I would definitely go back
Great collection of games (old and new), tons of pinball (obviously), and a great set of employees who understand the happiness rounding the tickets up can bring. A must do in Ann Arbor!
I absolutely always have a great time here. Its my go to spot when visiting A2. The layout is always changing along with the selection of games. Everything is well maintained and your quarters rarely get eaten. Its one of the best arcades Ive been to and Ive traveled around the world generally stopping at every arcade I see.
The staff is always great to my kids. The games are in great shape and they have a great selection.
Its pretty good, lots of fun games, etc but some of them are buggy, broken or dont pay out tix. I dont care much when I lose Tix, but my kids sure did :) Still lots of fun and a generally good time!
So many memories, so many classic machines. A great time.
All fun all the time! This place is so much fun with all kinds of games, redeem ticket for prizes or play a variety of pinball machines as it is the places namesake after all!
This place was AWESOME! Will definitely be coming back.
Always love Pinball Petes! 20 years of memories for me!
Your classic video arcade. Offers a wide range of games, from the classic 70’s and 80’s games, to a few brand new ones. Fighters, shooters, racers, coin games, skee ball, air hockey, and of course many pinball machines. This place can easily take many hours away from your day.
Amazing pinball and classic arcade games. You must visit here when in Ann Arbor.
This is one of my favorite spots in Ann Arbor! It has new and old games and is tons of fun to just grab some quarters and hang out. They also sell pizza which is cool. Love Pinball Petes!
I really do appreciate this place keeping retro and classic games in stock. Its like maintaining history. That being said, it is cramped, so if you dont like tighter spaces it might not be the place for you.
Great place for gaming. Ive been going for the past fifteen years and its always a lot of fun. Theres something for everyone.
The Ticket return counter guys were quite helpful and had very positive energy and attitudes!!! Josh and Adam I had to ask the names of them because they were that good!!!
Loads of fun! They have all sorts of games to choose from. Air hockey, ski ball, ticket games, video games, dance games, classic arcade and modern arcade games and pinball. I have never seen a greater collection of pinball games. Many of them were old but restored to mint condition. Amazing! My only complaint is that it is very warm in there.
It was fun just really pricey and you know a lot of run of the mill rigged games/prizes like a chuckee cheeses pretty much
Always love going here. Weekends are usually the busiest. So there may be certain games that are played on more then others. But they have a HUGE selection of games to play, especially pinball. There 3 different areas that have groups of pinball machines.
Amazing selection of arcade games and pinball machines. My main complaint is that it was hot AF. If they can figure out how to ventilate it better, I would definitely be willing to spend a lot more time there in the future.
Great experience. Fun to head down to the games after a night out. Josh and Adam were very very helpful.
In the basement of a place and when I got in there I was like looks OK. Did stuff and then I noticed it was big. One game hurt my ears. Pool, pinball, air hockey, and lots of other stuff. Has ticket games. Some stuff is expensive but not bad. Push bathroom door though. Great staff. Rounded up ticket count like 50 for me. Recommend going here.
A really fun experience, but the tickets pretty much get you nothing unless you have a TON of them. I really like playing all the pinball though, especially because I learned that Im pretty good at it.
Great local place with tons of game offerings, and updated games.
Pinball, air hockey, billiards, video games, and other stuff. Open until 2 every night. Right over on South University, grab a beer or a bubble tea first. Jimmy Johns or Pancheros after. An institution in Ann Arbor, and one of the last old school arcades you can find. Bonus points for the downstairs location. Check this gem out the next time you need to play that silver ball.
Lots to do and enjoy. Multiple games new and old.
Fun and every one was nice and i enjoyed myslef:)
This place is a Superfun blast from the past! We were happy that it wasnt overpriced :-)
A must see if you visit Ann Arbor and are into pinball or arcade games! I have been going here regularly for the last 20 years. It is a great establishment that always has both up-to-date and classic pinball games to play. They also have pool tables and all sorts of other attractions. I wish there were more traditional arcades like this
Pretty retro and current game place its pretty solid.
Outstanding arcade with retro and newer games!! The only thing they were lacking was a bar. Beer would be nice while playing games.
The only reason its 4 out of 5 stars is bc I lost some money in the machines. But other than that it was a pretty fun place.
One of the best collections of arcade games Ive seen. I could easily spend a full day here.
Great arcade, I love coming here. Its fun every time. Tons of arcade classics, as well as new games. Lots of pool tables, too.Super fun. Go here if you want to.
Such a great location. A staple in the city.
Love this place been coming here for years. They raised South Park pinball from 50 cents to a dollar per play... sad feels. Plz change back
Pinball Petes is a lot of fun! They have a good selection of old pinball machines and other arcade games. There are many ticketed games that you can trade for prizes if youre into that too. The Dance Dance Revolution machines seemed pretty popular.
Great place that harkens back to the arcade era of the 80s/90s. They have a wide selection of modern and retro-games. They have an excellent selection of pinball. They also have billiards tables. Great place to take kids or a first-date. My only caveat is that almost all of the pinball machines are a dollar. Generally, the older pins are .50-.75 cents. Ohh well though, they have one of the best collections in Michigan, and they are a true gem for the state.
Authentic arcade. Great vibe. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great fun with friends within 10 bucks
A fun arcade that we always enjoy visiting.
Loved it. Traveled from Puerto Rico. Excellent Arcade. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Best Arcade you will ever go to. Great prices and really good selection. Has pool, air hockey, arcade classics, and the best selection of pinball games.
Lovely little hole in the basement. Games are reasonably priced, and I appreciate the access to pool tables and such for those who are not huge gamers in a group.
Josh you rock! Here is the review I promised you! Thanks for helping me and my friends out! You deserve to be employee of the month haha!
Great arcade with a wide selection of games for everyone. Theres the newest and classic shooters, ticket redemption, fighting, arcade, DDR, and pinball. It lives up to its name of Pinball Petes by having about 30 pinball machines, with some really rare and limited edition ones you dont see elsewhere.
Nice, large arcade with lots of pinball games, also nice selection of ticket reward games
Pinball Petes is a great arcade they have many old video games as well as new ones. And of course they have pinball machines.
I always love coming here it has fun games and its in a great area :)
They have everything you would want at an Arcade:- Pinball (variety of machines)- Ski ball (variety of machines)- Pool (multiple tables)- Air hockey (multiple tables)- Dance Dance RevolutionAnd many other arcade games, all in good condition. The ticket prizes are similar to what youd find at other arcades.
Good arcade with friendly staff. Machines eat quarters a lot though. We lost about 15% of our quarters to bad machines (with $20 sample size). It is pretty frustrating. I would go back but I would be very hesitant with machines I am not sure work.
Its one of the few left that actually uses quarters. For some, thats not as much fun, but having grown up on using quarters in pinball machines and video games, I kinda love it. Nice assortment of games, from old to new. If the owners could offer beer for sale, Id live there!
Ive been here several times and I love it. Very big arcade with several games, most of them being older/classic ones. Cheaper than Dave and Busters by far. Had some machines eat my quarters but it is to be expected when the machines are that old, so it wasnt surprising. Ill probably visit again.
