Small, simple, quaint and quiet park with a river that runs through it. There are plenty of places to sit close to the waters edge. There is also a sports field nearby. You can watch locals play sports or you can watch an occasional hedgehog or muskrat come out of there hiding places to grab a snack. There are several bike stands and several parking spaces along with a table protected by a canopy. Some come rain or shine, Island Park is probably the most inexpensive island you can honestly say you took a trip to and will definitely return to.

Island park is a semi-secluded area in/near Fuller park. That being said it can be popular during certain times of the day. When it is not, you are very sheltered from the outside world. I think it is a nice place to watch the river or hang out with friends.

Wonderful park. Easily accessible, secluded, and a joy for the kids. The playground didnt get hot in the sun, and the shallow water in the creek and river made it easy to play in. Even saw people put their folding chairs in the shaded shallows. I envy the people who live across from it.

We have kayaked from Argo to Gallop Park many times, yesterday we stopped by Island Park for the first time. We enjoyed the rest and the park. It would be a great place for a picnic lunch during the river paddle.

Great access to the Huron, not deep but current can be strong in some areas. Cute island with foot bridges, playground and pavilions. Bathrooms are small but decent, only one of two toilets working. Canoe/ tubing access. Lots of people floating by probably from Argo park.

Nice park. Plenty to do. The kids played catch in a grassy area, caught fish, and walked barefoot through the a shallow section of stream. The playground looked nice, but our kids were too interested in fishing and exploring the water. If you are wondering what type of fish to target, we caught mostly smallmouth bass. We arrived just after the pavilion and restrooms were cleaned, so that was nice too. The squirrels are not shy so be aware. Dont leave food unattended in the pavilion. But other than that, it was a good place to spend a few hours.

Island Park has three top spots that shouldnt be missed. Firstly, as you enter through the white bridge if you take a right and go through the white shed there is a log you can sit on and look on the water. Then ahead there a huge brown bridge that takes you to the field. Thirdly there is a small bridge on the extreme left of the park where you can see and play in the water as well.

Very pretty, peaceful stopping spot. I come here year round. Bathrooms are open for the season. There is a lot to do here, playground for the kids. I have seen many weddings .professional photos are routinely taken here. Multiple pavilions. One is classical style of white marble look. You can reserve pavilions for special occasions. Spring is huge for graduation cookouts. I enjoy spending time here.

Beautiful park, there are many birds in an around the island during the summer months! Can be accessed by bridge from the park on the south side of the river if you follow a narrow path next to the soccer fields. The water around the island is shallow and looks pretty clean (as far as the Huron river goes). The big shelter is a great venue for outdoor events.

A nice little park few minutes from Downtown AnnArbor and just off U of M hosputal. The huron River splits in here forming a tiny island. Park has a kids play area and limited picnic shelters. The main attraction is slow moving shallow rivers with nice view. During hot summer days, this is perfect for young kids to enjoy the flowing water. Be aware, it gets crowded during summer days. The flow is also perfect for those inflated tubes or floating pads but not very ideal for canoeing . The park is also shared by lot of birds / water fowler, so expect mess.

We love this little riverside park! Its so quaint and clean and rarely busy. We like to put our tubes in here when we float, and get out at the end of Gallup Park. Depending on the height of the river and the current speed it takes about 2.5 to 4 hours to float.

A great place to escape with the kids. Easy access to the River makes for fun exploration and cooling off on a warm Summers day. The nearby play structure is nice but planted in the middle of an open field. Painted white and gray helps with the heat but that structure is hot and we didnt last long. Nearby swings thankfully provide shade and saved us. Nearby bathrooms, pavilion, grilling and picnic tables make this a great local for picnics. Parking is a bit of an issue but free. We took the bus which saved us from the limited parking battle

Last September my daughter & husband both got poison ivy. When we went this spring. We saw the poison ivy right away. And we seemed to avoid it this trip. The playground is fine. Nothing exciting. The fact that you can wade in the water is the biggest appeal. However because of all the poison ivy, we wont likely be back.

The park looked very old and not being from around here i didnt know if it was safe or not because it didnt look like it. We found drug bottles lying around. There were other people there that looked pretty normal so that was the only reason we got out and walked around. The bridges and water were beautiful but you can tell its a very old park. I wouldnt feel comfortable being there by myself. Bug again Im not from the area so it may be safe.
