It’s kind of funny how it’s called Rick’s American Café, it’s nothing like a café. It’s very very different. I definitely had some good times when an undergrad. However, I also had some bad times. It’s just kind of a sketchy college club. But you can definitely have a good time.

Refuses to let people in there cause other people think they did something cause other people told them they did something to kick them out and never let them back in again cause of hearsay? Gotta love Ricks Ann Arbor!!! I always looked out for you but now!?!?!?

Recommend going with a group of 5-6 people. Keep an eye on each other and you can have a pretty good time. The floor is gross but the music is generally quite good, in my experience. There are some weirdos lurking at all times, so be careful.

Any visitor must take Ricks for what it is, not what they want it to be. This is not a European super club. It is not Necto. This is a place to get trashed and have a great time interacting with other inebriated humans.Could the floors be more clean? Yes. Was the bartender a dick? Yes. Could the music be better? Yes. Did drunk me care about any of this? Nope.Pay the cover, Grab a Mind Probe, and Enjoy a great night.

1) They didn’t accept my own ID but the second an underage girl tries to get in while using a *friend’s* ID: it wasn’t a problem. Overly regulatory, elitist, and catering to sexism/rape culture.2) clearly servicing underage, low life frat/sorority people who thrive off of undiagnosed alcoholism.3) overpriced. $4.50 for a bud light? Really?Ann Arbor should do better. Quit letting people in who ruin the night and upgrade the “bros” that you have checking IDs at the front.

Its a great bar. Dont get me wrong. But the music is trash. They play the same songs two times within 10mins. They did this 3 times with 3 different songs. I was only there for 2 hours.

Worst customer service not only from a bar but a business in general. I would never suggest to anyone, not even my worst enemy. My friends and I paid the $5 cover to get in had a few drinks the night before thanksgiving. We stepped outside for a smoke and the bouncers refused to let us back in to retrieve our belongings. It was 36 degrees outside and we were told to wait until 2:00 to get back in, which was a half an hour. We waited in the cold and at 2 were still told we could not come back inside. The management had no sympathy or apology for our experience. They held our items from us even though we paid to be in their establishment. When speaking to a manager he was hostile and unprofessional when hearing our complaint of refusal to collect our belongings and go home, never apologizing for the actions of the bar once. Horrible experience. Do not go unless you want your personal items lost inside and be physically assaulted by staff. They also wished everyone a good evening except people who voiced their distaste with the management. Horrible work moral, ethics, and respect in regards to clients. In addition, on a half full night the bathrooms were just as disgusting As a packed Friday night. Despicable and absolutely horrendous. I will never, I repete, never, go back and have been a faithful patron until today

Had a blast in Ricks and never even paid any attention to the setting. It was so fun we just kept dancing almost the whole time. Only problem is some guys just get a little grabby and way too bumpy. Its definitely a tight squeeze once youre down there with so many people.

If youre looking for a very stereotypical college club atmosphere this is the place to go. Dont expect good drinks or music though. Also, fair warning, it literally smells like a mens locker room. Also, the line is always outrageously long and I really have never understood why.

Its downright gnasty in there. I recommend going there when you are quite drunk. Its just a big dirty room of loud, fratty people. Men there have no shame. Still had fun tho lol

I lost my wallet and they didnt accept my passport as another form of ID. Super strict for no reason. Would not go back. 0/10 would not recommend

Ricks is rick-diculous. You can only go if you are Ricks ready. Make sure to get the mind probe. Ricks is dirty, raunchy, and filled with sweat, fratstars, and girls trying to hit on athletes.
