Ankeny Community Theatre is an underrated gem. Consider getting involved! Dont feel like you are creative? Give yourself & your children the opportunity to try -- or build sets & run lights & promote the shows. Great people & excellent productions!

The ambiance is typical of a community theater. The play Moms gift, was funny and thought provoking. The cast did a superb job, I laughed,cried and thought about the message. Definitely a go to play!!!

Diary of Ann Frank was a great play. One of my favorite books of all times. This is something you must see and will enjoy.

Ankeny Community Theatre strives to provide a variety of quality productions, year in and year out. The simple fact is that not everyone is going to like every show. A show that I may not have cared for was loved by someone else and a show that I may have loved was disliked by someone else. However, the work that goes on behind the scenes and the hours upon hours of work done by actors, directors, crew members, volunteers, and board members is a labor of love that is not surpassed by any other theater, anywhere. Thank you.

I love going and enjoy the performances. Just watched Passing Notes and it was powerful and emotional.

Over the years our family has enjoyed many shows at ACT for date nights and family outings. Since we have not been in awhile, we looked forward to taking in our local talent for another charming performance. Unfortunately, the title was misleading to its content. The fact a song was about a penis and erection at the Spelling Bee was the least of it. If the theater leadership needs to wave a flag of their political and religious views, I can stay home and turn on any form of media to hear the same. But if the religious slander had been against another faith, like, lets say, Muslims, can you even imagine the furor? For me, this may be the Final Act.

This is a local treasure - great shows and amazing talent!!
