Year round, Ward Reservation and Holt Hill provide spectacular views of the Boston Skyline. The walking trails for all ages and abilities provide a perfect backdrop for conversations with family and friends. The Reservation has a reasonable $5 parking fee, but dont stay past the Reservations closing time or your car will be locked in.

What a gem we didnt even know was here! The Yellow loop trail was perfect in length for three sets of little legs. Lots of see and explore with a picnic partway through. Well definitely be back

Beautiful park featuring everything that’s great about New England! Some of the trails can be a bit rocky, but with so many to chose from, there’s something for everyone. Worth a visit!! Word of warning: At peak times parking can be sparse and once the lot is filled, you must come back another time (no street parking is available).

My husbands all time favorite place to go for a walk. There are hundreds of acres to explore. Plenty of easier trails for those not super in shape. I like to walk there because there is a lot of shaded areas in the woods. The trustees do a really nice job keeping up with the trails and maintenance so I dont mind paying the $5 for parking to help with that. Nice place to bring dogs as well!

Several loops of well-maintained trails thru the woods and fields, with a view of Boston from the top of Holt Hill. Limited parking ($5), so probably full at popular times like sunny Fall weekend days.

Awesome hiking area! About 6 miles of hiking between the three main loops and a bunch of other trails between them provides you with plenty of variety. Dog friendly and an easy enough hike with kids.Parking is limited, so if youre going at a peak time be aware, maybe look into other parking at the north side of the hiking area.

Wonder place to explore! Parking is five bucks per car for all day! The reservation closes at sunset. One of the most beautiful places in the area! Amazing wooded trails to hike, stunning fields to explore, and streams and swamps to check out. Open year round. Bring your mountain bike in the spring and summer and your cross country skis or snow shoes in the winter!

One of the best Trustees hiking properties i have visited. An abundance of wildlife with varying terrain, higher elevations with the solstice stones and a great bog path which puts you out in a serene pond.

The views of the Boston skyline were worth the hike up. We took the yellow trail up its rated moderate which in my view is about right. For the easiest and fastest way to the top take the fire lane. Its a paved/closed road that is fine for strollers. The bog trail is pretty flat and is wheelchair assecible. The only down side to the property is there is no porta pottie or restroom on site. Dogs on leashes is allowed. Trails were clearly marked and there were posted maps at certain points. The fire tower is still on the property though it is closed, too bad bc a climb even halfway up would have offered some nice views..

Beautiful! Great trail markings, but no maps at parking lot, so download one ahead of time. $5 parking fee for non-members. Bring and use bug repellent if taking any of the trails into the woods, red and blue trails especially. Have fun, be safe, and leave no litter.

This reservation is fantastic. They have elevated trails over a bog, forest trails, field trails, all types of grades of hikes, and a service road you can walk if you want to get to the top quickly. There is an old fire watch tower at the top and a large set of stones laid out like a sun dial (Solstice Stones). It is very well maintained.

Run by “The Trustees” organization, this place is mostly wooded trails but the trails are well maintained and the few open areas are really quite pretty.I’ll be going back to explore for sure.**PRO TIP**Download the Trustees App. On it there are maps of the property that overlay the gps maps and show you the trails and how to get back to your car. It was super helpful!!

It wasnt a long hike at all. Very clean and scenic. You can see Boston from solstics stomes if you follow the yellow trail. Great for starter hikers! Beautiful scene at the end. I saw couple of 3 feet snakes at Bog trail, I got worried but nothing happened. I called my another frequent hiker friend and he informed me that these snakes are not poisnous in new england. Had a great morning there followed by outdoor dining lunch in Andover downtown.

Prepare several hours to walk all the trails. Make sure to get a map before heading in the reservation since the directions along the way seemed so confused. The best way is to follow the colored dots which keep you on the trail that you want to be on. Dont forget to bring water with you.

Mini Forest Park. Full of green and walking path in between make you feel refreshed while walking. The path lead to a small natural lake. Full of scenic location. If you are a person who love nature and beauty of silence then its place for you.Inside the reserve there are benches to sit and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature. Otherwise you wont get any to drink or eat. Carry water while going. Parking and entry is free. Must leave before sunset.

Beautiful area to walk especially when the leave colors are changing! There are three main hikes with a map sign posted after the bridge off the parking lot.The highlights here are the Solstice Stones at the top of Ward Hill and a view of Boston and all the trees in between. If you follow the yellow markers, it is about 15 minutes from the parking lot to the top.Another hike starts from the Ward Hill peak along the Graham Trail to Boston Hill which was an old downhill ski area. Follow the blue markers as you hike this trail.Parking is $5 but free if you are a member of the Trustees. You just need to make a donation to become a member. The money goes to preserving the nice outdoor areas for all of us to enjoy.Getting there: Take Route 125 to Prospect Road in Andover. Drive in about one half mile to the parking lot on the right.

My son and I hiked about 4 miles through Ward Reservation and had a great time. The trails were well marked and easy to follow. Heading up to the hills had some pretty steep sections, but nothing extremely difficult. We were there the morning after a heavy rain and only encountered a couple of places where the trail was significantly muddy. The views of downtown Boston were definitely worth the effort of hiking up the hills.

And some dog owners do need to have better control of their dogs and maybe a trash barrel or 2 on key trail point like were there were 5 dog waste bags laying around the ground at 1 spot.
