Very, very, very nice place to go fishing, boating, camping, and hiking. So beautiful there and the trails are kept up well. Definitely new favorite spot to visit for some outdoor fun. Well worth the visit here and it wont disappoint!

Very nice state park on Lake Hartwell. We had fun swimming, fishing, boating and hiking around the park. Great area for kayaking. The park has a nice fishing pier but we didnt have much luck catching anything but small bream. Camp ground roads are not paved but in decent shape. Definitely prefer the sites on loop 3. Sites seem nicer with more space and easier to navigate. Beautiful scenery looking out over the lake. Staff was extremely friendly. The host on loop 2 gets an extra thank you as he helped me out of a jam after hours without a question.

Super quiet and nicely kept park. The pavilion is particularly nice with beautifully clean bathrooms. Seems like there are some nice accessible trails and enough space that you can get away from people. If you don’t mind getting wet, I’d highly recommend wading across to the little island. Good hammocking and swimming over there

I enjoy the mountain bike trails! While not too extensive they are a very pleasant ride and suited for beginner to intermediate riders - I like taking my wife and 8 year old.

The park overall was nice for bike riding or picnic but campground needs major overhaul. Sites were too cramped together, gravel and rock so no water access from site and no privacy at all. Dump station needs upgrade as well. Very difficult to get in with fifth wheel. Park suited for smaller travel trailers.

This place has so many small private beach areas off to themselves and at $3 adult and $1 its worth it plenty of wildlife and scenery ...... You can even grill and it has grills there if you dont have one just bring some aluminum foil and charcoal and staff is excellent upon arrival so please take my word for it and try it out

We stayed in lot 5. Very level lot right on the water. No trees, about 7ft drop off to water so difficult to fish from the bank. We did manage to catch a few. Very quiet and peaceful. You have to drive to other side of park to take trash, recycle, and dump station. We probably wont stay here again unless we are desperate. We only stayed this time due to all the COE campgrounds being closed because of covid-19.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this campground, especially loop 2. The sites are a little small, so not a lot of room for friends to come hang out, but thats not a deal breaker. The rangers are super attentive to the bathrooms and any needs/concerns you may have. Ive captured some of the most gorgeous sunsets Ive ever seen. We camp here at least once a month. LOVE IT!

This down-to-earth campground is for those who enjoy nature but also like electricity and water. The graveled campsites are not cramped and you have room to move about and set up extra gear. While the facilities could use some TLC, the bathrooms are clean. However, I noted there were no tampon receptacles in the stall. I like the water-saver option on the toilets, and unlike many campgrounds you actually have the option to recycle your aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and newspapers. The office is tiny and dont expect to buy those last minute amenities there. Though the lower lake levels are dramatic you can investigate the lake bed with ease. The kiddie play area is small. The ball park is simply a mowed area with a tall chain link fence at one end. The dump station needs updating and the extra large rigs might have trouble navigating close enough to the dump area. Though this park is no frills you can bike, hike, run, fish, kayak, go boating to your hearts content. If you love nature, youll love this park.

A large pavilion with new horseshoe pits, boat ramp, a place for the kids to play, and charcoal grills, a very nice .5 mile walking path, newly paved to the fishing pier. Friendly staff, clean facility and grounds. Had a fantastic camping trip here. Great place for family camping. Armadillos, raccoons and deer were spotted. Armadillos can carry leprosy, so observe but dont touch. And just a warning: Raccoons are little bandits who will help themselves to anything left out overnight. I will definitely be back and will recommend!!

A very beautiful place to camp lakeside. This was our first time hear and we will definitely be back. While we did not catch any fish, most likely due to lake temperatures, our kayaking was great. We did stay clise to the shore as the traffic on the lake was heavy on the weekend. I would have given 5 stars, but the dump station was very far from, the campground when towing a portable cartridge.

The tent site I had was amazing. Being an avid backpacker and outdoor enthusiast I would say it is definitely one of the best parks Ive been at during the week and off time. Very peaceful and serene with very little traffic. The amenities were in pristine shape and the activity places such as playgrounds and the clubhouse all were in great order; you can tell the staff take great care and consideration to the park. Overall great place will spend much offtime here!!

I couldnt find much about the trails here online, so I didnt know what to expect. I found the trails here to be well maintained and marked. If your just starting to ride or an experienced rider looking to stretch your legs, this park offers something for everyone. There no double diamond features but around 8 miles of fun twisting trails.

Great for many reasons. They have a fishing pier with underwater lighting to attract fish. A boat ramp with adequate parking. There are nature trails u can walk or ride bikes on throughout the park. There are lots of sandy beach areas great for swimming. Multiple grilling areas and campsites that are spread out enough that ur not camping with strangers and they also have several bathrooms, an outdoor recreation center and a pavilion for large events

Not a fan. This was our first camping trip in the new Camper 4 years ago end of loop 1. We came back memorial weekend 2019 loop 3. Will not be back. Grounds are rough. Sites small. Tent campers EVERYWHERE. Tent campers are fine, I used to be one, but these are some trashy looking tent villages. Those campers not on waterfront sites think it is okay to invade your waterfront site and the beach in front of your site with their dogs then proceed to smoke. Never have I thought it was okay to do that. This campground has public beaches.Several in our group cut their toes or fingers on the rocks in the water. Unable to beach the pontoon due to rocks Definately better options on Hartwell.

Review №98

Loop one has great views, but sites are not well defined. There was a mixup due to poor signage for sites 5-8 that could have been bad, had one of us not went to the office and sorted it out before the big camper trailer arrived. But views were great and fallen wood for the fire was abundant.
