I had a fantastic time here on re-opening night! The music choice was mostly all current and modern tracks that still gave the perfect atmosphere to just skate the the night away! Maybe other nights will have another mix of music, they have a good sound system The rental skates are actually pretty good for what they are, and the price was pretty good for being there for 2 & 1/2 hours.I really enjoyed the semi retro backdrop and vibe of the building itsself and enjoyed seeing people of all levels of skating enjoying themselves. Absolutely magical when it came time for the disco ball to be on~Kinda nice note, they also have reffs on the rink to help people when they fall and make sure everyone is following the rules, they are nice :)I highly recommend checking this place out, I know I will be back as often as I can be!
I clearly expressed before paying i wanted to rollerblade and they only offered roller skates after making us pay cash only. then they don’t allow stocking caps/ beanies on the floor. and after not skating once and returning my skates they won’t even offer a refund because it’s an “admission fee” but the parents sitting there not skating didn’t pay anything.
NO MUSICAL DIVERSITY.Place would be at least twice as popular with a more diverse musical experience. Highly considering not coming back for that one reason. The music is half the fun and no one should pay $10 for half fun.
Great staff, great atmosphere.
Skates come in Toddler sizes down to size 7. If your kid is 2, they can most likely skate there.CASH only - very important to know. Luckily I happened to have cash on me.Wife thought it was shockingly clean. Vintage skating rink. The skating floor was in good shape.Restroom stalls have no doors. Even on the toilets... Know this and do what you need to do before going.Makes sense for security purposes. All ages were there and it was a fun atmosphere.Definitely recommend this place.Only 4 stars due to limited, poor quality (nutrition wise) food, and no doors on the stalls.
Awesome! Skating was super fun, skates are well maintained, and so is the skating floor. The bumper cars were also amazing, fast and just the way bumper cars should be!
Staff were accommodating during a recent birthday party. Everyone had a good time.
Most of the reviews seemed bad, but we decided to go for it anyway. We had 6 adults in our group ranging from their late 40’s to early 50’s. We ALL thought the reviews were way off base. The skates were pretty new, the establishment clean, the decor brought us all back to the 80’s skating rinks we frequented when we were young. We did not order food so I can’t comment on that. We will definitely do it again!
I love this place great for birthday parties and amazing customer service
I found it overpriced and the food is disgusting. The pretzels were hard as a rock and the chips were extremely stale. The drink I got was actually really good, but small for 5 bucks. The skates stank and gave my family member an allergic reaction throughout her legs. Also they had the lights on for the ring which I personally kind of find weird since normally roller skating places have them off so the Disco lights can shine, it kind of ruined the experience for me. Overall definitely not worth it and wouldnt recommend.
We decided to have my daughters birthday party here, complete waste of money. We wanted extra food and drinks for the adults and was told the 8 dollar pitcher of lemonade we bought was only the pitcher no cups included.. We also bought an extra pizza to for 20 dollars that was just a frozen pizza that the cheese wasnt even melted. Lets not even get into the terrible customer service. I could go on. I will not be a customer here again.
Place has been around since I was a kid so has a dated look but is clean and kids still enjoy going. It would be nice if it got a face lift with some modernization, such as some arcade games and TVs so if others such as myself are having to hang out during kids event then can watch a game on the TV or plug some quarters in a video game. Kids would probably enjoy the arcades also, more so. The parking lot needs pavement but isnt horrible. Staff is friendly. They consist of some youngsters but still carry themselves properly being its most likely their first jobs. But keep that in mind when its super busy as theyre doing their best
Definitely added the laser tag and bumper cars to try and bring in more people, reducing the skate floor. Which has not been a detrimental change and honestly quite ingenious. They are cash only which may be a sad sign. Essentially if you want there to be a skate rink in town, you have to go. Still run directly by the owners. Lots of young staff who seem happy and helpful. The music isnt too loud like some places, but i think it could use an update. The hokey pokey was unintelligible even with focus.Definitely not a bad place, and they deserve recognition for the work they are putting in.
I hadnt been skating since i was 9yrs old, lol. Had a good time w the family.
Clean and relaxing, safe environment with ample socializing space
We were discriminated against because of me being Hispanic and we denied entry. When I called to ask about it the owner gave a reason that I was a public safety hazard and they have to uphold a high Christian moral standard. We couldn’t go to our nieces birthday party due to this.
Skateland is an amazing skate rink, however sometimes their prices can be a bit extreme. i will always ejoy skating here, service is great, bumper cars and lazer tag is very nice! love that little place! and the customer service is off the chain!
The kids always have a good time here.
Such a fun place. Seems to be less and less popular as time goes on. Great spot for a family outing with the kids
The staff lied to us. They said that we reserved the party at 12:00pm and had a pass for bumper cars when we scheduled then when we got there we had to wait until 1:00pm then they told us we had to pay for tickets when we wanted to play bumper cars. the music is trash, would not recommend birthday parties
No bathroom doors .. enough said . Only rated one star because that’s the only way to comment .
Its a fun skate park where u can go skating, bumper cars, and laser tag
This establishment does not have doors on the female restroom. When asked why, the female owner stated it was a safety issue and has been that way for 30 years, However in 2018 with all the gender preference I find this to be unacceptable. I am a mother of two young girls and there safety is my top concern. I will NOT patronize this establishment until this injustice is rectified.
Number 1 roller rink in anchorage...of course I dont think there are any other roller rinks in anchorage. They have good rental skates, ok food, a good size rink.
Havent been to Skateland in over ten years. Same experience but with more to offer now with the addition of Bumper Carts and soon Laser Tag there is a lot more to do now. If you want or need a blast from the past, go here.
Skating, bumper cars, and our fave laser tag
The area was clean, music wasnt crazy loud, great service.
This place was INSANELY overpriced. 6 dollars for a 3 minute bumper car ride? Wow. The staff do not value customers and are pushy and uptight. Two of them threatened to ban me from the foods aisle because I didnt uncrinkle the dollars. The skating rink limits you to only be able to skate in one direction along the outer ring, and the concessions are overall terrible tasting. I do NOT recommend.
My kids and i have the best time whenever we go! Ages 22, 19 and 11. We love it here!!
First day back open. The setup looks better. I think the restrooms couldve been redone along with the extra attractions. Went to the concession stand and bought a bag of burnt popcorn, my nephew bought a pretzel and its hard to chew.
I just found out the frozen ground filmed here AND LIKE OMGGSHDUS
We had a birthday party for two girls and about 35 kids plus parents. The staff was helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure the party went off without a hitch! We didnt have to worry about anything except enjoying our girls special day!
Not too crowded, most of the music was... Meh..... But all in all was a nice and kept clean experience.
When a place says something, highlights it on their website, but does not honor it it makes you second guess their integrity. Please note this: We charge for all party guests except for non skating parents, they give you a card and mark skating participants, then take the card and charge for another list saying those guests may or may not have brought their own skates? This place does not value their customers- shameful.
Fun place for the kids, new skates, kinda like stepping back into the 70s
I always thoroughly enjoyed Skateland, and used to love going there back when i was in 6th grade. I hope everyone gets to enjoy it the same as i did.
Dont have a birthday party here. They spelled our kids name wrong on the table sign and cake, tried to charge $2 per empty paper cup so we could give out the pitcher of lemonade that we bought, and had overall HORRIBLE customer service.Never coming here again. They dont know how to run a business.
Love this place!!! Went there for the first time on a field trip for my sons 4th grade class. It was alot of fun and we will definitively be going back as a family!
GREAT TIME ALWAYS WITH ALL 3 OF MY KIDS! ALWAYS
Nice indoors fun!
Ive been going here since 2008 and I love it.The skating rink lights up and they play games like. You can buy light up glasses if that makes sense
Floor is actually still great for roller skating
New bumper cars and laser tag available now too.
4 stars for experience 0 for food & service
