These are so much fun when they are running. You have to expect to do some work though these dont run on disney magic but insted on pure people power. If you want to relax this is not the attraction for you. However if you dont mind work and want an unparalleled view of the rivers of America you cant beat it.
I’m not sure why they keep this “ride” but the pioneer outfits and coon hats the employees wear are cute. My family did this once and felt like that was enough. There are plenty of sites to see along the way and you’re arms get a good workout. Also it’s fun to wave to everyone when the Mark Twain comes zipping by. If you’re a regular season pass holder then I say go ahead and try it out just so you can say you did, but other than that I suggest you skip it.
Temporarily closed while there is construction on the the far sized of the rivers of America. When operating, the canoes are a fun ride where you dont just sit back, you actively participate. A group of people row the canoe along as your guide prompts you on how to row and points out sights along the river. Itll be a great day when the canoes return.
Best ride in the park after the train
My girlfriend hates this ride cause you are what makes it move, but I love this ride! Definitely a cool experience! Highly recommend trying it out when they reopen it after Star Wars Land is open.
Although a retro favorite, do not be fooled by the charming appearance, this ride is a lot of work! You were doing the rowing and the river is deceptively long, if you don’t mind working off some of the calories of all the ice cream and cotton candy you have been eating, then go for it!
Loved it as a kid, loved it as an adult. Brought my nephew to ride it and he seemed to have a good time. Great memories!
Lots of fun
We recently made one of our many trips to the Land with a couple friends of ours, also annual passholders, and I was shocked that they had never been on the Canoes at Disneyland. Much to our dismay, they were closed that day. The Canoes are great, especially when you get a really excited leader. One of the canoe leaders had us racing one of the other canoes, eventually overtaking them. That was GREAT!Once you get to the backside of the rivers of America, you can almost forget that youre at Disneyland, you almost feel like your in the wilderness. I will be making the Canoes a priority on my next visit!
Great fun ride the guide was entertaining
Love this ride. Such a great way to look back at Disneyland and see it from a fresh perspective.
The secret to this ride is you need to ride it twice in a row: Once on the left side of the canoe, and once on the right. Its essential to do this so you get a full upper body workout! The only bummer to this ride is that 100% of the time you will be stuck behind a child who doesnt know how to use the damn paddle and will splash the gross Rivers of America water in your face.
The canoes are one of the hidden gems that the Disneyland park has to offer. The guides have always been funnier than the script-laden Jungle Cruise cast members and when youre done, youve burned enough calories to buy yourself some beignets over in New Orleans Square.
The kinda silly fun experience you must check while in disney
This is a sweet way to get to ride around the island and see whats up there.
Canoe paddling is fun
A nice break from the mass of people.
It was closed when I went last, but I have gone before and it was pretty fun
This is a terrible ride!!!! Sweating Breathing Hard NO FUN!!!!
Great experience for kids and their parents
Buddie
One of the best and only non-electric/tech rides
Its definitely tiring to paddle the canoes, but its also so much fun!
