The food is spot on and taste like one of your grand mothers recipes. Best burgers in town. Owesome customer service. I drive an hour just to eat at this restaurant. Support the local restaurants and give them a try. If a messy fat juicy burger that is exploding with flavor is your craving this is the place. Dont miss out!
Very good food; not your average burger and fries. Masked server; minimal space outside, but fairly near the park. There was space inside, seating for two widely spaced. Take-out in small boxes; easy to carry without smashing.Chicken-burgers; hamburgers with unusual cheese/dressing combos. Fun place to try.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. They have pinball, pool, air hockey table and some other games for the kids (or adults) in the back. The service was nice and the food came quick. Wasnt so much impressed with the fried chicken, more of breaded, but all together its quite filling. The biscuit was on par. Moderate prices, not too spendy for the amount.
The basket of ribs and chicken it was delicious.. and We tried the waffles and chicken was delicious too..
Delicious! Highly recommend the root beer float which comes with local root beer. Food was delicious, and reasonably priced!
Thanks for 2 wonderful meals...we are trying to rotate around the restaurants that have been able to remain open during this Pandemic.. Chicken strips and fries a couple of weeks ago and tonight we had two cheeseburgers with the fixings and also Gorgonzola cheese crumbles and fries...Great service and great food...thank you!
Looked great, tasted ok. I got the prime rib dip, my wife got the yardbird, and kid got the chicken tenders. The fries were not hot and the dip had very little flavor, the yard bird sandwich was an awesome biscuit and good chicken (crunchy yet moist), but the gravy was bland and flavorless. The tenders had a bit of cajun flavor and were pretty good, and arrived very hot. They have some games in the back the highlights are a nice starwars pinball machine, pool table, and air hockey. The rest of the games are very old or non functioning. The decor was as youd expect, retro dive bar style, beer cap tables, and such. They appear to have a decent selection of beers, ciders and a full bar. They are kid friendly until 10pm which is awesome because my kid loves games like pool and air hockey.
I love the food, especially the french fries! So good!
It was great. Burgers served on pretzel buns.
Completely overpriced and not worth it. Oh, they offer an exorbitant fee to substitute salad instead of fries? No thanks - ever again! Steer clear of this place unless you love giving away your money for tiny portions. And if the manager/owner wants to reply to this review, dont try - my mind is already made up to never give you my business again and Im warning anyone else wholl listen. Hopefully your business isnt around on the other side of this pandemic - Anacortes will be much better off for it
Food was so so, how to chicken burger and the deep fried chicken was blackish and relatively light on flavor, I added about a quarter bottle of Tabasco sauce on it. Unfortunately the fries were not so great, pretty greasy and not much flavor to write home about. The drinks seemed to be reasonably priced, other menu items also seem to be relatively reasonably priced. Not sure if I would visit again though.
Friendly staff, great menu items that touch on southern inspiration and comfort food, cold beer and growler fills to go, cant go wrong.
Always great good, good portions and friendly service.
Great food. Great Drinks. Great atmosphere. Amazing prices. What more could you want?! If youre lucky enough its on the menu when you go in... try the donut burger. OMG
Our server had RBF and was super rude. The fries were super greasy! There was another customer who complained about the fries as well. My wings were gross. Clearly processed. The owner asked me what was wrong with my wings and I just didnt care to share with her why I didnt eat them. She said;well if you dont tell me I cant fix it. Another customer complained about mayo on his burger and she said, next time you need to order it without mayo. $5 for greasy fries and $9 for the frozen processed chicken. Save the hassle and go to calico cupboard. Poor service. Took 40 minutes to get our food and we were the first customers there.
Late night snacks definitely hit the spot! I had hot wings and chicken+waffles (both super good). I really appreciated the awesome, speedy service, and atmosphere (although I only stayed a few min to grab a to-go order). Maybe well come by again tomorrow night! I want to find out whether the dollar bills tacked to the ceiling are lost bets, Im intrigued...
Its very pub like. If youre looking for that then this is a casual place to go with friends and have some cheap grub. There will be loud folks the bar as this seems to be a hangout spot. Big selection of drinks at the bar. Many types of hot sauce. The fries are good. 4 stars for being laid back, bathroom is spotless when Ive gone, and for the working hours for this area. Its open til midnight last I checked.
Excellent service, very good food. Worth stopping by for lunch or dinner, and they serve breakfast!!! Their donut burgers are only available on weekends, unless you bring your own!Portion sizes are generous, and if your an herbivore, their salads looked very tasty.
The transition from food truck to brick and mortar is a success! The restaurant delivers on the Vagabond charm. Its got a cozy, welcoming, just like home feeling/vibe. Theres a pool table, arcade games, coloring books, and board games - things to engage friends and family. A full bar for adult beverages and a simplistic menu that delivers tasty food for a fair price. I had the yardbird (pictured) with fries and it was very good.My only negative is the parking situation, which is unfortunately unavoidable for this location. If youre visiting, theres 4 normal parking spots and one handicap; Street parking and a short walk is to be expected. The hours are also a little odd but that may become more regular as business continues to grow, regardless its worth the trip.
No place better in Anacortes for some good ole comfort food.
Its a wonderful place to eat and have a drink wine cider beer good company great place to eat best kimchi I ever very spicy Ill go back there any
Awesome service amazing food!!
The food was too greasy and the service left little to be desired
Defiantly not a 4.6 BUT it has a relaxing Bar Vibe that’s pretty cool. The staff seemed friendly and the food was just ok. Visited once, checked off our Anacortes Restaurant List.
This place is a hidden gem the food slaps they play good music and the place is decorated amazingly . Im telling you bruh go here its dope. Also the teken machine has a broken left coin slot so your welcome .
So so food. 6 slices of beets on Beet Salad. More provided when requested. Others at our table were not impressed with their meals. Very nice waiter. Garage doors all around for outdoor seating. Loud music. A second visit could possible add another star.
Food was greasy but good. Had a burger on a pretzel bun with bacon and grilled onions (wear a bib, lol!), then played a few games of pool and pinball. A great time was had by all!
Frickin Amazeballs. Most chicken sandwiches have the habit of becoming soggy, but theirs stayed crispy, and was flavorful and fresh.
Never had a bad meal here. Straight up good.
The perfect dive if you’re after a quick burger and brew. The fries are actually not too greasy and anyone who says they are should put their prissy hand down around a pint of beer and start chugging because no great story ever started with a salad. Only place in town that I know of that sells beer to go! Though they should tighten the lid a little harder because the under seal popped on me and I was forced to chug my beer.(when I got home of course);) not complaining though. Will return.
Excellent burgers. Good service. Great for kids with gaming. Relaxing atmosphere. Only thing was the super-greasy fries. Will substitute for a salad or soup next time.
The food was good. Service was alright. The place has a good vibe and is a unique restraint with out of the box ideas and a small arcade
Fantastic food and service
Delicious chicken and friendly staff with a good beer selection
Very friendly. Great food. They serve food late and its good.
I’m usually pretty generous with ratings, but this was just overall not a great experience for us. We were looking for a cheap local place to eat, and we saw a menu posted online at around $7 per meal. This must have been for the food truck- we realized that once we got there. Not their fault though, just disappointing that most meals were a few dollars more in the restaurant. Although the waiter was very nice, we barely saw him and we were sitting at the bar. We were not at all impressed with the chicken and waffles- just very bland. We felt the same way about the fries. I asked for a to go drink and didn’t realize you pay $1.50 less for the $3 drink if you return the jar. We weren’t informed of that until I asked. I told him never mind, I didn’t want to take it to go. I really wasn’t crazy about paying $3 for a drink that didn’t even get refilled when it had been sitting empty for the last 15 minutes, and a jar I didn’t want. He acknowledged and (nicely) said “it’s only like an extra dollar or so.” I said I didn’t want it to go, again. The check didn’t break down what we paid for, but we added it up later and we were still charged the extra $1.50. No, it’s not a lot of money, but the principle of it is really what was frustrating and the slow service and not so great food just added to it.The rating does take into account a very tasty burger for one of our party, the friendliness of the waiter when we saw him, and a pretty great atmosphere with an arcade in the back. Wouldn’t go back again though.
This place is awesome!!! Great environment, and even greater food!!! The deep fried ribs with the maple bbq sauce was freaking delicious!
We went in without any expectations and Vagabond is my new favorite place in Anacortes. I assumed we would be treated to a whole bunch of fried foods bought from a wholesaler, but everything looked and tasted like it was made fresh. Nobody was unhappy with any part of their food. My only complaint is that the service was a bit slow at times.
11/5/19 - okay a year or so I wrote a review- it was not favorable. However I heard good things about the food so I told my sweetie I wanted to try it again.I had the blue cheese salad, Deep fried ribs and garlic fries, my sweetie had the chicken burger. Then we had the brownie with ice cream for dessert.Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy, YUMMY!The ribs were juicy the BQ sauce was delicious as well as the blue cheese salad an garlic fries tasted fresh cut my sweetie loved his chicken burger. The service was good, the waitress had encouraged me to try the ribs and glad she did.We will return and since they serve food late that’s great! I think they might be the only place in Anacortes that serves late. Also they have a pool table and air hockey table, pinball games in the back great for kids of all agesIt a clean welcoming place.11/20/19 - came by again with my girlfriend it was amazing, the Chili cheese fries we’re a new thing I tried and they were amazing.
Great food, drinks, and service! Really comfortable atmosphere with good music playing
We seated ourselves at the bar, and began looking at the beer selection, and just taking a look around since this was our first time. A very nice young lady took our drink orders, there is a good variety of Spirits, beer and wine. We ordered our food, which took a little longer than expected, but I realized the kitchen was filling orders for pick up as well, so understandable. We both enjoyed our dinner. Overall the staff was friendly, food delicious, and the prices are excellent! The vibe in the restaurant was very upbeat and lively. We will definitely go back. Thanks for a great experience.
They have the most amazing chicken sandwhich I have ever tasted, specially made by the staff. Friendly and interesting place. 100000% recommend.
Awesome food, great staff, outside seating for dogs!
Would be 5 but they use pretzel buns, just a personal preference not sure if they have other buns probably should have asked. Their fries are awesome. When Im in town I always stop by and destroy my diet. Just remember to get napkins.
Awesome food great people work there and great atmosphere for families too. I recommend checking it out.
Delicious. Wide variety of hot sauces to spice up an already tasty hamburger or chicken sandwich. Loved the local bar feel that was still family friendly until 10 pm. Service was excellent and attentive
Everything about my experience was lackluster at best. Everything from the chicken to the fries were overcooked. In fact the fries were more like potato jerky. The bun on my chicken sandwich was completely raw inside (I was able to wad it up into a ball of dough) and the lettuce was wilted and chewy. My fiancees burger was flavorless and utterly disappointing. The service was spoty and disinterested. Will not not be returning.
First time eating there...very good homemade soup with sriracha sour cream on top that added that extra oomph, yum + homemade bisket with ham and swiss which was also good...by friend had a great club sandwich, panini style the bread was homemade biscuit dough....it looked like a waffle...he said it was great...I will definitely go there again
Great food, but I kind of miss the food truck.... But I will say the fried chicken sandwich (yard bird) is the best Ive had anywhere, ever. Its in my top 10 all time favorite meals and thats saying something. I just wish the restaurant was on the same quality the truck was, the last few times its kind of had a burnt oil taste to it ya know? Tough to explain. Will be back though, I co spider my self a semi regular and would recommend to friends.
Was directed here from another restaurant in town that was closing just as we got there. The food was great and the service was better.Get the biscuit starter...a couple for the table. Skip the whiscuit, its OK but not as good as the biscuit. The frozen are great. The sweat tea wasnt very sweet but still dang good. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich, Arizona burger and chicken fingers. They were all good. The pretzel bun on the sandwiches was killer. Go eat there and enjoy.
GET THE PICKLE POBOY!!! OMG
Awesome spot, the donut burger on Saturdays is the best of the best
This place is great! A must visit when you stop in Anacortes. We sat at the bar, the service is outstanding. The lemonade, arnie Palmer, cheeseburger with the pretzel bun were really good. And their fries are absolutely delicious. Oh! And the fried chicken biscuit dish was scrumptious as well. The arcade game selections were fun to play while waiting for our food which was fairly quick and efficient. Price point was very reasonable given the quality and portions of all of the dishes that they serve. We will for sure be back the next time we come up to Anacortes.
Feeling lazy review. Good biscuits, chicken, ham, and fresh cut shoe string fries. Comfy enviroment.
Cozy little bar/restaurant with games in the back. Chicken and waffles with the best honey butter and bbq syrup. Will eat here again
Amazing! I substituted the fries for a wedge salad and the donut burger (served on Saturdays) was to die for. My husband enjoyed his prime rib sandwich and fries.
We love this convenient stop on the way to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. The pub food is spectacular, the service- fast and friendly with just the right amount of attention, great prices!
Amazing burger, pretzel bun, perfect grilled onions. It was the best burger I’ve eaten
Excellent service with down home food
My daughter and I really enjoyed our lunch and came back the next time we were in town
Great service, try the food, except for the fries. They serve a biscuit waffle which is fing tasty!!!!They have a kid friendly arcade, with air hockey! The staff is extremely helpful. The ketchup they have is sugary sweet and not Heinz, they do have an eclectic hot sauce mix which is pretty good.
We went for lunch and enjoyed it so much we came back after work for more. Lunch we had a the burger special and French dip. Yum! The bun on the burger was a pretzel bun, it went perfect with the gorganzola and sauteeted onion burger. The French dip was heavy with perfectly sliced beef. I chose Swiss to top. The roll it was kinda didnt just dissolve when dipped in the aujus. We had ceasar salad for our side. It had shaved parmesan cheese. So good. I brought a box home with half the French dip and half my salad. The four teenagers at home were not happy that there was not more. After work we went back and shared an appetizer if baby back ribs. I chose Franks hot sauce and blue cheese. I was so happy this was not a first date cause they were so good I sucked every bit of goodness off the bone. For drinks, I had a Bellieni, it was Champagne, with peach whiskey and oj. Quite nice. We also got a shot of the peach whiskey to sip. It was good. I would up dumping it in my Belleini, which made it really good. My husband had beer. . He drank it, I assume it was good.We will definitely come back.
Tables were clean & ready for use. Our waiter was prompt, friendly, and helpful. Food came in a reasonable length of time & was well prepared & delicious. Prices were reasonable. We were not rushed out. Ill definitely return.
Great food. Best mac and cheese ever
Chicken and waffle are amazing! Also, try the donut bacon burger on Saturdays (at least once) so worth it. It is the softest donut and the juiciest burger I have ever had. Especially with their honey bbq sauce for the fries
Great food, great people, great atmosphere what more could you ask for. They have attentive staff that know the menu well. Great place to bring kids since they have a full game room in the back with air hockey, pool table, pin ball, and other arcade games. Clean and comfortable seating with tables, booths, and L shaped bar. If you have never been here youre missing out.
Awesome place to grab a beer and an appetizer and kill some time or have dinner. Their fried chicken sandwich and sweet tea is reminiscent of the south. Basic food done well is hard to come by but this place nails it. Maple BBQ sauce is the go to. Good beers on tap and a friendly staff round out what’s already a great little spot.
Im recently indifferent about this place. So the people who work here are cool, awesome to say the least. The food however has become hit or miss.I dont remember when the fries changed and got so greasy but they are more often than perfectly crispy. I believe that I survived the burger being less than cooked through because of the beer. Alcohol battles undercooked meats very well, fyi. I took a dive and consumed it because it took a while to get my food already. Understanding that hand prepared food takes time... Im not sure how theyd fix this, not being a restaurant owner myself it must be difficult. My friends and I feel that the atmosphere and people are totally Vagabond signature worthy of the food truck that they came from. Its just the food quality isnt as good as the truck produced. That probably sounds odd but the truck was one of the best things in town to look forward to.
Best fried chicken around
Cool atmosphere and tasty grub, awesome hours and friendly employees. We will be back soon.
Good beer, ample quantities of pub food. Not many vegetarian options.
It was relaxing and comfortable. I went and had a drink. Not bad.
Excellent food and service.
Great food, friendly staff and very fun environment. Good time for the whole family.
Some of the best chicken Ive ever had!
Great food, great people, sweet little dining area. I love that this place is open late too! Try the deep fried ribs, theyre delicious!
NO Bone-in fried chicken here. Advertising is deceiving. But good food Nevertheless.
One of the best burgers Ive ever had has been at this restaurant. The interior could use work, but theyre fairly recent. Service was very nice and very local type. Its perfect for the area and I hope they do well. I will for sure go back many times.
I hesitate to give it 5 stars, but I realize they really are amazing! Do not go in expecting to order something that is run-of-the-mill diner anything though. This is a specific and specialty menu and for what it is they absolutely nail it. This is definitely a restaurant for comfort food and cheat days!!!
Vagabond is our favorite family restaurant in town, and they serve food until MIDNIGHT!Its so fantastic! The wait staff and owners are incredible and extremely helpful. The arcade is a great place for kids and its one of the few pool tables in town! Dont think twice...come grab a seat! Try anything with chicken...you wont be dissapointed!
Came in at lunch time just for drinks, lovely waitress, made us feel very welcome. Came back later for dinner, fantastic food and again lovely staff. Great place
Great food and always a fun time. Service is amazing and you wont find better chicken in town.
The burgers are . Also they have an awesome arcade with phantom menace pinball!
Such a great place. Good food and great service, will be back again.
Absolutely delicious cant wait to visit again.
Sooo good! Was on the fence because I didnt know what to expect. Everything was amazing; food, drinks and Shelby our waitress (shes a doll). Love the mini arcade/game room too (kid friendly)... Will be going back!!
Ginger beer and food was good
Killer burgers and chicken sandwiches. Good beer selection.
The food was fantastic, made with care. Unpretentious, comfortable setting.
I had a cheeseburger here and it was very tasty and made with fresh ground beef. The employees were very friendly. Definitely a good place to go to get a late night bite to eat.
Great pretzel buns.
Super good food and a unique atmosphere.
