So, while Id like to applaud the museums latest effort to be consciously environmentalist, Im not quite sure how pro-environmentalist a museum can be when it waves the green flag in one hand but opens its other hand to sponsors whose businesses are, at the very least, problematic for the environment, and bad as it gets for animals, needless to say. Some kind of cognitive dissonance is going on here, lol.
Some really nice paintings and statues. Definitely worth a visit. Please donate as there no entry fees.
Delightful museum! The permanent collection of Asian art is quite nice and the textile exhibit up during my visit was wonderfully varied and well curated. The Art Space is also lovely and would be a nice place to spend some time in to draw or allow kids to engage in creative activities. It took me about an hour and 45 minutes to see everything.
A hidden gem! Free and open to the public- no reason to not stop in! Im not a serious art buff by any means, but I enjoyed spending about an hour here. Super cool that 2 of their 3 floors are changing exhibits, and the top floor is stationary (Asian and Indian artwork). Friendly staff an added bonus. Recommend!
Nice small modern art museum!
First time at the Amarillo Museum of Art. It was a delightful experience. Particularly went to see the Cut up/Cut out exhibition. Admission is free. Went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet so it was nice to walk around and view the art in peace. Nice facility and accommodating staff.
Its free! And they have a donation box at the entrance so you dont feel guilty, like your robbing then place lol. Its not a big place so if you take your kids they wont get restless. They have new art every couple of months.
The Amarillo Museum of Art has a very nice schedule of exhibitions and lectures on various types of art. One need to go on the Web Page for their schedule of events and hours. The Ladd lecture series is very good and recently the Open Road was a step in the past. Prices are reasonable. Displays are always different and full of variety. I am amazed at all of the local artistic talent. I really enjoy when the students are displaying their talent.
Great displays and exhibets showcasing local artist from the panhandle and Amarillo areas. Also exhibits showcasing Amarillo school students from middle school to college level. History and culture spanning many time periods.
We absolutely had a wonderful time. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and absolutely went out of their way for us. I typically avoid Museums of any kind given my service dog and I are typically not welcomed, but this was a complete opposite then how I am typically treaded.Although the law forced others that let me in I have never felt comfortable. This place is highly recommended. The whole family truly enjoyed the experience.
Its so cool. Very good exhibits.
Price: Suggested Donation $5.Food: Not Allowed.Service: Excellent.Cleanliness: Excellent.Location: Somewhat Out of the Way.Exhibits: Very Interesting.
Worth the stop! Great place for the kids. Amazing art work.
What an incredible little gem of a museum! It took us less than an hour to see everything, but quality matters more than quantity, and this museum did not disappoint.
Amazing art pieces but not very many details of the pieces
Great local hidden gem. Big city feel for small Amarillo. Admission is free but a donation is recommended. Definitely worth a trip.
Great small museum
Wonderful people. Awesome collections.
Excellant art displays & many different types of shows. Different activities even for children during the year. Good parking & ramp available
OMG this place is too cool! Loved every minute of it
Soooo many reasons in all seasons!
Free admission, modern looking inside, but lack of art exhibit.
The Asain and Camboduan exhibit was really awe inspiring. It was as if the Buddha heads were totally at peace and ready to expose the secrects to life and existence at any moment. I wish there was more to see there from other places and periods of time, but all in all a great plaxe to spend a few hours alone or on a date.
Everyone can use a lil culture. Even a thug from Watts
Amarillos home for fine art in a museum setting. Located on the Amarillo College campus there is plenty of parking available. Art displays include permanent collections and periodic fine art exhibitions from around the world as well as regional artists.
Best museum. Best staff
Really enjoyed.
Its a very progressive museum. Very nice art.
Took children for a day out of hot sun they enjoyed all the statues there & information about them .
Interesting exhibit called Ring of Fire. Staff was very helpful.
Not the kind of art Im into, the mood was ominous, and the listening demonstrations were creepy.
The Amarillo Museum of Art, located on Amarillo Colleges campus, is a shining diamond of arts for the Texas panhandle. You will be surprised by quality and variety of the seasonal exhibitions, as well as the permanent collection of Asian art in the Price Gallery. Offering more than just art on the wall, you will want to check back often for the special openings, lectures, and parties. They offer something for the entire family; childrens art lessons to late night openings featuring food and drink.Dont miss out!
BEAUTIFUL ART, GREAT PEOPLE, NO CHARGE ADDMISSION, AND ITS VERY (VERY COOL ) INSIDE

One of our favorite places in town. Truly a fantastic museum with wonderful world-class permanent collection and top notch visiting exhibitions that would be welcome at any art museum in a larger city. It gets even better with free admission and warm and welcoming staff. Your decision to visit the AMoA will not be one you regret.
It is a small gallery but they have thoughtful shows on three levels that are accessible to all. there are mpressly maintained public toilets, the admission is free, and the attendants are friendly and helpful
Nice exhibits and free, what else could you want.
Amazing place and its free
They have an excellent selection of modern art and Asian art. My favorite was the large collection of tsalkis they had on display.
