First time playing Trophy. Players need accuracy for strategic fairways and tucked pin placements. Greens are in very good condition, but tees need some attention.
Played a steamy afternoon round today at 1:20. The place was packed but I was very happy that we finished the round in 4 hours so I do appreciate the pace. I played this once last year and the tee boxes and greens were in bad shape but they’ve done a lot of work getting it back in shape. The greens were lightening fast which is how such a short course really shows it’s teeth. This is well worth the $35 we paid for the round - feels like a bargain given the good shape. I also saw my first snake of the year....
Most of the course is in great shape. Staff was extremely pleasant. Cart girl was awesome.
I am a longtime Trophy Club player and for years was a players club member. My experience today was very dissappointing. We continue to be in the midst of Coronavirus yet the proshop would not accept a credit card over the phone. Thus, I had to enter the proshop to check-in and found to my dismay that the guy behind the desk was not wearing a mask! I have not been in any other retail establishment in the last 6 months where this was the case and it shows utter disregard for the safety of customers. I also decided to walk to maintain distance from other players and I was not told by the pro shop that the walking and riding fees were the same - since I was the third playing with 2 guys in the same cart I couldve had my own cart but the pro shop didnt offer me this. Thats 3 or 4 strikes for this place in one day. I wont be back anytime soon.
The course was in wonderful shape I always enjoy my golf experience
Enjoyed the round. Range could use some work
The pace of play was good and the greens and tee boxes were passable. The low review is due to the manager Jason providing an awful customer experience. When I checked in, I was charged a much higher rate than the published Players Club reciprocal rates that were updated 2 days prior to my play. I had to correct the manager Jason multiple times about the correct rate which was published in a simple to read table. Despite the rates being up to date, Jason refused to honor the rate. In addition to that, during check-in I also ordered a small range bucket. Upon going to the station to collect the bucket, I was informed they were out of range balls. Since I paid for a good that I did not receive, it was clear that I should be receiving a refund since I did not receive the agreed upon good. For Jason, this seemed to be an incredible inconvenience to refund this amount. At one point, he said he was refunding me a certain amount but handed me a refund lower than the said amount. When I corrected multiple times that he handed me a refund lower than his said amount, he stared at me blankly. At this point my tee time was approaching and I chose to play my round as opposed to further explaining the situation to Jason. Its unclear to me what qualifies Jason to be a manager of this facility. He had no desire to create a positive customer experience, did not execute a membership plan that was agreed upon with partner facilities, and failed to grasp basic arithmetic. Just know that if you ask for the manager and you happen to see a tall Caucasian older gentleman approaching, youre likely out of luck.Edit 5/21: Updated my review from a 1 star to 3 star. Jason reached out to apologize and we were able to clear the miscommunications. Pleasant conversation and it does seem management is intent on providing a positive customer experience.
Superior, clean, well run. Staff very friendly
Good course, amazing food.
Had an awesome experience one of the golf pros Austin was extremely helpful Will definitely go back!
Be careful here. Racially profiling customers and providing absolute horrible customer service- sad part is my Husband and his friend both are retired NFL football players and contribute to Milton’s youth organizations regularly.
Great golf course and people are amazing.
Nice course...greens in great shape. Moved through without any delays. Would definitely play again.
We looked at house near this golf course. The houses were nice, but we are looking for yard space that will accommodate a pool. The real estate agent on site is great.
Good condition for this time of year. Greens still run true. And truly sloped.
Fun to play and lots of good holes. However, the clubhouse makes some questionable decisions. Why have a league night AND start regular players. League goes off front 9 shotgun start, back 9 gets crowded from the people already on it and new players. 17 groups on 9 holes doesnt work
If You Belong To The Players Club the price of this golf course is so cheap its unbelievable.
Great course in great condition. Greens were fast and well maintained. I really like this course for the cost.
T boxes are pretty rough, course is not that great for layout. Just ok.
Trophy Club is not known for well maintained tee boxes or greens, but they have always had a good price. However, after leaving a brand new $250 UE portable speaker in my cart at 7:30pm, I was sure they would handle it like any other professional business or golf course. I called the next morning and was told they would return my call. After calling several times and never getting a return call, I became concerned. I drove up to the clubhouse to speak to management and they would not show their face so I talked to the cart team, and they all just nervously shrugged like they knew they take stuff from the carts all the time. Have some class Trophy Club! and if you are going to allow your employees to steal, man up and return a phone call!
Fun course and great tournament!
5 stars, the people here are amazing, just wanted how great they are here we have done about 9 flooring jobs in here and they have all been awesome.
Great shape for November. Tee boxes are messed up but pretty typical when the grass is dormant.
Pretty decent course, but they over book way too much. Every time I’ve played here I’ve had someone up my groups a$$ and a slow group in front of me. Lastly, Tee boxes are in VERY rough condition.
Started at noon and front side was fine. Got to back nine and the greens had been punched and heavilytopped dressed with sand. Could not see any grass.Unplayable! Knowone informed us when we checked in and we paid full price. Spoke with the General Manager afterwards and asked why they didnt inform us of the condition when we signed in. He said it wasnt there policy and were not required to ??We want be going back !
Well maintained. Tough course, and very fast greens.
Course is in great shape. Greens are lightling fast this week. Sept 8th
Price does not match the quality of course. This is a $35 course, at best. Greens are in great shape, maybe the best I’ve seen them. It’s the staff that ruins experience more than anything else. Had several terrible experiences couple years ago and stopped going. Decided to give it another try, big mistake. They are the least friendly and flexible staff I’ve ever encountered.
Unfortunate experience. Saturday, 7:52am tee time. Perfect day for golf...one would think. Both the management and the grounds need improving to earn $75 for a round. Fool me once shame on you, won’t fool me twice. One tee box had only sand, and numerous others were goat track/driving range quality. (Makes sense why you hit off mats on the driving range.)The quality of the greens earned this course an extra star. Nice Bermuda greens with very challenging pin placements. We were rushed onto and then around the course by the Marshall because an afternoon tournament needed our golf carts. Also, we started off of #10, without explanation.Be prepared to hear a sales pitch for the membership program. I should have worn my shirt that said “please refrain from all sales pitches on the weekend before 8:00 am.”
Decently laid out course, not bad. But their customer service. Clerk (the manager) told me to step aside and let others come through even if I was in line first and I felt like a burden for paying them to play golf. Also charged me the full price even though I was a players club member. Seriously, dont come here unless you want to be felt like a burden with their nasty attitude.
I only practiced there today, an have not played here in about two years. You should know this the greens are in better shape then on some of these semi private courses that I play regularly. I will be coming back often. Superintendent is worth his weight in gold.
Once again a very slow 5 hour round. Course was in good shape just cannot manage tee times and pace!
Nice course. Greens were a little rough from aeration
Great golf course play there every week
Course was in great condition. Especially after two days of thunderstorms. Pace of play was normal for a very busy Sunday morning, and cart path only. Will definitely be back.
Better than the Appalachian farms TPC
Great track. Plays pretty short from the blues which makes for a fun time. A few driveable par 4s if you can carry it 270+ and get a good bounce. The greens are usually in great shape and very consistent. There are a few tee boxes that are mostly sand and need some love but thats about the only negative thing I can say about the course. Book a tee time online through golfnow to save $. The last time I played was a week ago and the course was full but the rangers kept the pace of play moving. Its about what youd expect from a public course on a weekend but is much better than Bobby Jones, Browns Mill, Chastain/North Fulton when it comes to pace of play and quality. They dont overseed the fairways so its not green until spring but it doesnt affect the course too much. Ive enjoyed my round every time Ive played here. Its 6000 yards from the blues and 6700 from the golds so choose based on your group but the blues make it fun with a wedge in your hand after a good tee shot on most holes. There are some holes that have creeks and slope a certain way that you need to have tribal knowledge in order to avoid hitting one down the middle only to find your ball has rolled into a creek or bounced directly right into the woods so take a quick drive up in the cart to see what youre landing area looks like. This is the best bang for your buck and Id compare it to Bradshaw farms in terms of quality. Hit em straight.
Let me say if I was paying $65 a round I wouldnt give it 5 stars but with the players club I pay $17 get 2 buckets of range balls and 2 beers. The track is nice and the greens can be very tough especially when they decide to place some tough pins. The guys in the pro shop are great and the girls at the bar always treat me right. I play here 2 or 3 times a week for the price of playing once somewhere else.
Careful booking tee times online here (trophy club) and their affiliates (Bradshaw Farms). I booked for a group of 4. One guy couldnt play due to an illness and TC still dinged my credit card for the full amount $70 a few days later w/out my knowledge or authorization. The Club pro didnt mention the no-show being an issue. When I called to inquire I received the run-a-round from Bradshaw, Trophy Club, and GolfNow. Was promised that the club pro would call back and that never happened. Will be avoiding these clubs in our rotation now.
Great course good condition
Wow. What a terrible course. All I wanted to do was have a nice day on the links and it was already ruined at hole 1. The chump starters wouldnt let me tee off because I didnt have my receipt. What is this place? Augusta National? The workers at this course have no southern hospitality and probably shoot in the 100s. They do not have the customer service like the gentleman at Country Land. Next the course was backed up for miles. I had to wait at least 10 minutes before teeing off at every hole because the chump starters back up the course. Me and my buddies didnt even finish the round and ended up leaving after hole 12. What a terrible place to play and I will never be going back. If you are looking for a place to play grab a tee time at Country Land and you will for sure have a better time. Screw you trophy club.
Legally obligated to not go into detail. Will never return to this place.
Challenging course that is not too long. Was in decent shape the day I played it. The course has a couple long challenging par 4s but it also has some reachable par 5s.
Love this course and have been playing here for 4+ years, but I must say that the pro shop staff have never made me feel welcome here. The rangers are super-friendly, however. Not sure what the deal is with the attitude on the other side of the counter, though. Best greens in town for under $70 (weekend rate).
Friendly Staff
Nice course. Extremely slow play
Beautiful course that did not break the bank to play.
Decent Course. The staff is professional and hard working.Unless youre familiar with the course the hazards are not marked in any fashion which can lead to some nasty surprises. We played on a Sunday and there was no concession cart and water only on two holes. This course could use some work.
This is a good quality good course thats not too expensive. Its especially with while if you join players club where you get two free buckets of balls for the range per day.
The course:Short but tricky. It is fairly hilly and there are some tough holes which makes it fun to play. Decent shape for the winter, tee boxes are pretty torn up.The staff:The majority of the staff I’ve dealt with there are rude. Starter was rude and condescending. There was one decently nice guy in the clubhouse but I’ve dealt with two guys I didn’t much care for in the past. They desperately need some basic customer service training. It seems like a lot of people in the reviews noticed the same.
The course was in miserable shape. Tee boxes were pretty much dirt, fairways werent much better since there was literally no grass other than the dead type and the play was very slow which just made the experience all that much more painful. The only positive was the greens which played very fast. Charging 70 each to play this course is a joke under the present conditions.
About a year ago, the course was challenging and fun....played there a couple of times lately and just wont go back! The rough is ridiculous to the point where you have to step on your ball to find it....just off the fairway. Groups of golfers looking for their golf balls causing massive delays. The last round was 5 hours and 10 minutes...a joke! Was once a good course to play....dont waste your money or your time.
The course is fun but very mismanaged. How do 4 groups get stuck on #2, yet there were 3 marshals all conversing around the practice green as we headed out? Cart girl was on point all day.
Course is usually in good condition and was on this day except the recent green aeration (without notice when booking online). Course was busy but not crowded - which is good because its usually so crowded rounds take 5 hours.
My home course, great staff and great member programs.6.17.17 edit: Worst experience in the 12 months Ive been a member here. Staff turnover is high and the experience with clubhouse staff today was an embarrassment. I took my kids to play for Fathers Day weekend and if my children had not been present at the time todays experience would have had a much different outcome.
Not a bad course to play on. I wouldnt pay $73 to play it again, over priced for the condition of the course.
I have played this course many times. The course is deceptive because it doesnt seem like it should be as difficult as it is. The greens are consistently in good shape with some difficult pin locations. However, many of the tee boxes (blue and white) are beyond repair and need to be rebuilt. They release groups in 8 minute intervals, so if youre impatient or in a hurry on a nice day this isnt for you. The practice facility is nice and spacious. The grill is well stocked with food and beverage, but not always a quick stop at the turn. If youre local, the best way to play is to join the Players Club. Youll get discounted tee times, free range balls and free drinks!
Great golf course, will test your golfing skill. Very well maintained.
The greens were very challenging and the coarse well maintained
Bad experience from all aspects. Unable to finish our round due to start time being delayed by almost 30 minutes. Score card was already filled out. Cart battery was low, wouldnt go up inclines. Cart girl was very rude, and was out of pretty much everything.Definitely not worth the price. Spend the extra money and go to Bears Best or St Marlow.
The course is great shape except the greens. The greens have been punched and sanded for the second time. It is tough to putt anything outside six feet.
Beautiful course, great greens!
I have heard a great many things about this course and was excited to play it. The course was in overall pretty good shape with a few tee boxes that could use some work. The fairways were in nice shape and the green ran pretty true. My biggest complaint is the pace of play. If I am going to pay $70+ to play a round of golf I expect the there to be enough rangers and/or for the pro shop to only register enough tee times to to maintain/accommodate a reasonable pace of play. It is ABSURD to have a 5+ hour round and by that I mean it took more than 5 hours just to play 16 holes. I really dont see myself coming back to play Trophy Club unless the pace of play issue is resolved.
Trainer Jhon is very good at the leaching golf. Thanks Jhon.
This was absolutely the worst course Ive played in Atlanta.Tee Boxes had large bare patches of earth and were un-level.The rough is Bermuda grass and it was 10 - 14 inches deep around the greens, 5 yards off the green....! if youre not on the green you might not find your ball....It looked like they hadnt mowed in a month and where they had mowed it was still 6 - 8 inches deep with 3 - 4 inches of dead grass clippings in big bunches all over the damn place. Ball in the fairway rough = lost ball, too deep to find.Fairways are tight and with the overgrown rough the course was completely unforgiving and unplayable. Every hole has been neglected on the fairway sides, they are completely overgrown with trees and brush and dead lumber (downfall). The only redeeming aspect of the course was the b-e-a-u-tiful cart girl....Worse day of golf in 20 years. Dont waste your money...I normally dont write reviews.... this place is so bad, I wanted to write a review....
Very Friendly staff and the course is great for a beautiful fall day like this one!
Good course, but a bit pricey as compared to other (better) courses in the area.
100 Black Men Golf tournament was amazing!
Very friendly staff - great value for the money.
Played the Trophy Club last weekend. Nice enough course, although tee boxes are beat up. Pace of play was ridiculously slow...the group in front of us was holding the entire course up. Sometimes its tough to tell why play is so slow, but once we got to the 12th tee box, we could see the next 2 holes were open. Where are the rangers? Turned into a 5 hour round...unacceptable!
A beautiful scenery to gold. A few brown patches but its cute enough to look over it
Course is in decent shape. Plan on a five hour round on Saturday and Sundays though.
I had a good time at the course yesterday. It rained all morning but the greens ran true and had some speed to them. It is hard to find perfect greens in the summer in Georgia but these were the best that I have come across this time of year. Didnt see any Marshalls, but didnt need any as the course was pretty vacant. Play in the afternoon during the week and you will have a good time. I can see how the course could get backed up on the weekend as it is tight and not suited well for the high handicapper. Overall great experience and I will definately return.
Nice course. They have a range, nice clubhouse and small bar/restaurant.
Affordable short golf course with maintained fairways and good, not great, greens.
A great semi-private golf club in Alpharetta. The greens are typically smooth and fast Bermuda, with Bermuda fairways in good shape and sometimes very thick penalizing Bermuda rough. I think overall it is a great track, being both fun and challenging. This course also offers some very good low cost member deals and typically gets a lot of play. A couple of nights a week there are also league options. That can lead to some beat up tee boxes, occasional long rounds, and inconsistent bunkers (many times unraked, and rarely groomed). HOWEVER, the Players Club Deal is hard to beat, if you want to play at least once a week especially weekends. The deal is $30/month and includes up to 2 large range buckets/day at no cost, plus a $16/round of golf anytime after 1pm (that includes a cart and 2 free beers or 2 fountain drinks). That same deal can also be used at Bradshaw Farms.PRACTICE FACILITY: A nice large putting green(no chipping) between the Clubhouse and the First Tee(which is almost always used as the back nine). A very small chipping green is located over by the 10th tee (typically used as the first tee box). The large range with practice bunker is always mats only. Located about 150-200 yards up a small hill from the Clubhouse and parking lot. Unless your tee time is within the next 20 minutes you typically will not be given a cart. You will have to catch a ride with a cart guy or walk and cart carry your bag to the range. Usually you will have to walk back, unless you happen to finish at the same time a cart guy is bringing someone up to the range.SHORT Course?: The course many times gets, in my opinion, a bad rap as being very short. From the tips it plays 6754 with the par 3s playing 166, 195, 197, and 167. Admittedly it is not a +7000 course, but the vast majority of golfers do not play the from tee boxes beyond 6800 yards. The other tee box options are Member:6401, Blue:6001, White:5474, Red:4370. YES, the Blues are SHORT for typical Blues, but you dont have to play those tees..., just move back to the 6401 or 6754 tees. And yes, if you want a plus 6800 yard course, you will have to go somewhere else. My wife loves the Red tees because she does not drive the ball over 200 yards. If a woman drives it over 200 yards she may prefer moving to the White tees. Speaking of women, in my opinion you will want to wait till you get back to the Clubhouse bathrooms. Luckily the both nines finish back at the Clubhouse. I would not recommend stopping at what is offered for a mid nine bathroom break. The clubhouse has a bar that lately has had a decent draft beer selection. Back earlier in the summer the only selection was Bud Light and Coors Light. The Pro Shop has a limited selection of balls, gloves, and apparel. The carts are electric powered. In almost all my interactions with the staff (pro shop, marshals, cart guys, and bar tenders) they have been very friendly, laid back, and helpful.
Course in great shape for January, staff very cordial, especially the starter who asked if it was our fist time there and proceeded to give us detailed info on the holes. we will definitely put this course on our regular rotation.
This course use to be a great value w/Players Club but with new owners (approx Jan 2017), it is EXTREMELY MISMANAGED! The old staff that was awesome/friendly are gone & replaced w/a young nasty rude mgr that overcharges, overbooks & does not take care of the course. He is very confrontational & chooses to yell when asked questions. NOT Junior Golf Friendly. VERY slow play due to extreme overbooking. No marshaling the course. The course/greens are in bad shape & continues to decline. Driving range has become mats only which means the area in front is destroyed. They added a loud speaker which annoys the golfers on the 1st, 10th, chipping & putting range. Free WIFI was taken away. I was told to try to use someones houses wifi. New owners are a joke! New Kid Manager needs to go!
When I pay $70+ dollars for golf I have some expectations. When I get the okay to tee off and I do so then only to have the Marshal tell me you have to wait now cause were gonna pair you up. So we wait 5 more min until the other 2 some shows up. Condition of the course was not good at all. I know we have gotten a good amount of rain recently but the fairways were horrid. I have played this course 100+ times and I havent seen it in this bad of shape in a LONG time. It will take something magical for me to return to trophy club
I played a beautiful course under gorgeous conditions. I cant get back soon enough!
Ive played the course twice. The first time was on a weekend and I had no issues. The second time was on a Tuesday morning and had quite a few annoyances.About the course:Overall, I like the course. The layout is good. The greens are super fast. The rough is very challenging. In fact, be prepared to lose balls in the rough just a few yards from the fairway because of how covered your ball can get. It is very difficult to get a good lie in the rough that you can hit out with any sort of consistency or predictability. My annoyances:When I played on a Tuesday morning in September, I ran into quite a few people-related things that really detract from the overall goodness of the course.1) I had the fairway sprinklers come on during 1 of my holes. Luckily, a groundskeeper saw me shortly after they started, and he turned them back off.2) On 2-3 of the holes on the same day, I was at the tee box... confused by what the mowers were doing in front of me. 1 time they were mowing around the green when I was trying to do an approach shot. I didnt know to wait for them, yell fore, or what. So I just hit. My approach went to the right of the green and was ran over by the mower before I got there. This similar thing happened on 2 tee boxes as well. On one of my drives, my ball was ran over by the mower again except this time it did no damage and merely dragged my ball for about 10-15 yards. And on the 3rd time during that same day, my ball landed about 3 yards from the mow line so it made it unscathed. Now when I did go to take my shots and the mowers were near, they did turn them off and wait for me... but just having them anywhere near where I was supposed to be hitting was unsettling and a bit confusing. What am I supposed to do in those instances? Just ignore them and hit away? If so, how do I prevent them from running my ball over?3) About midway through my round, all the greens in front of me were covered in a light layer of sand. I was told before teeing off on #1 that they were going to do this, but that they were going to start on the front nine and I should be out in front of them. I finished my round in under 3 hours (i was by myself) and I definitely wasnt out in front of them.4) The driving range was closed when I arrived.... again, all in the same day (7:56am tuesday morning tee time). It looked like it was closed for the whole day because it wasnt open when I finished 3 hours later.I would definitely go here again, but I just think they should either charge less and have more realistic expectations during early morning weekday rounds... or they should treat early morning weekday rounds like early morning weekend rounds and charge the same fee. The course is great and a good challenge, but I just had a bad experience on 1 of my rounds due to groundskeeping timing and interruptions.
Wow! The worst customer service ever and extremely disappointed with the result of the job they contracted to have MANY MANY trees removed on the property without letting none of the residents know in advance...With the removal of the trees (right next to our fence...), there was a lot of debris. Some was removed, some remains. Certainly the stumps were not ground down and surrounding vegetation was not cleared. It just does not look good at all and nobody seems to care and give assistance...
SLOW SLOW SLOW...5.5 hr rounding on Tuesday morning. What is marshal doing? The greens on back 9 was nothing but sand. Never notified about the aeration.Dont waste your money on this course.
Very nice staff. Great course.
Very positive - everyone was polite and helpful making for an enjoyable round of golf
Courteous Staff, Priced within reason.
Great course. Very affordable and accommodating.
I play about 3 times a week.Mike, paul, rob, christie, philip and the rest of the staff constantly go out of their way to make my day very enjoyable. The course is always in superb condition
Just beautiful
Nice short course not terribly crowded in the am/weekend by Atlanta standards
Not in good shape at all as much dirt as grass, greens are decent, but its cheap. You get what you pay for. A quantity over quality facility.
Good enough course and the Players Club is a great deal.
It would be nice if Trophy Club of Atlanta would tell you in advance that the greens were just aerated. The greens were terrible to putt on
My only complaint is the Service, if you want to be rushed around like a herd of catlle adn yelled to putt on hole 8, then you will love this course. By the way are 4some finished in 4hr 10 min.The course is very nice and greens very fast, the reangers are terrible. Would never go back.
Nice course. Friendly staff.
