Very friendly staff. Great popcorn. Love the frozen drinks! We had a great experience.
Expensive entertainment. Tickets for me and my 4-year-old plus popcorn and one drink set me back $30. I should have went on bargain Tuesday, if thats even a thing anymore now that AMC owns the theater. Restrooms are usable but are on the edge of disgusting. The movie was awesome, though!
Movie great, but prices high, staff rude . Ordered bottles of water, they gave us warm bottles. When asked if they had cold ones, they stated, No. No offer for anything else or a discount . $4.50 for 20oz.bottle. place needs updating no cup holders for drinks.
My husband and I were in line waiting for popcorn. The person in front of us ordered a meal deal, and wanted extra butter on their popcorn. The person had a problem paying, so their more than half full bag of popcorn was put back in the popcorn machine. We approached and happened to want the same deal. The old lady that works there started to grab the bag that had the extra butter. I looked at her and said, no butter on the popcorn. She hissed at me, actually made a noise like she was irritated I even asked, and filled the bag up and gave us the bag with the buttered popcorn. I cannot eat the butter on the popcorn. It upsets my stomach. The butter is the same oil butter that they cook it in. She wouldnt give me a new bag of popcorn with no butter. I told her I saw her put butter on that already, and she gave me a dirty look and set it on the counter. Being my husband will eat the buttered corn I thought I will just eat some from the top and stop instead of fighting with this crazy woman. Well apparently, there was a lot more butter and I accidentally ate some. We had to leave the movie early because my stomach was upset. We have never been back and wont. I dont know if this is true, but someone told me she was an owner!!! Not only that, but that they also own the other theater. Just to be safe, I wont go to either theater. If there is a movie I want to see, we go out of town.
Good sound quality friendly and helpful staff. In a historic building for the town a good experience.
The seats in this theatre are terrible. If your want people to spend money here you have to make it a pleasurable experience. The old lady that works there, is never nice to people. I dont think she knows what a smile is. I dont spend my money there very much anymore. Only if there is a really awesome movie on. I would rather wait till it comes out on Netflix.,
No ice for the pop, cold stale popcorn, never been updated dirty sticky seats and smells bad. I wont go there.
A good, clean environment. The staff are helpful and well informed. The seating is ok and the DLP screen is a good viewing experience. The sound is decent, loud but not overbearing. All in all its a good theater if you wanna catch a movie; its not an IMAX or a specialty cinema with recliners or sofas. Its your typical theater with a bump thanks to good employees who offer great service Android always seem upbeat and positive.
We drove from Presque Isle, (40+ miles roundtrip), to see a movie that was listed on the Fandango. When we got there, the theater was dark. As it turned out, due to a screw up on the part of the movie distributor, the movie was unable to be shown. Kindly, after I knocked on the door of the darkened theater to find out what was going on, the owner gave us passes to use at a future date. I did not expect such a kindness, and it was greatly appreciated. We frequent this theater often, and always enjoy the experience.
Took my nieces to see Trolls. They loved it! The theater was a bit messy but the quality has gotten somewhat better since I last went.
Love the location, the service, and the variety of offerings. Its a tradition. And no, I do not see too many movies.
Good for a small town. Seats are old but it is a nice theater and clean.
Seats give u back pain. So bad. Staff is nice. But im not gonna pay for uncomfortable crappy seats. Folding chairs would be better. Sorry but true
On a fishing trip from out of town, and wanted to see the friendly, neighborhood movie theatre! Only there was nothing neighborly about this over priced cash cow. Seeing how the floor wasnt clean, the workers were disheveled and unkempt, friendly but lazy, 48 dollar concession bill, last but not least, their projector broke with a refund on the ticket, finding AMCs reputation was indefinatly tarnished was extremely dissapointing. What MY issue was is that I showed up 30 min. before show time with the projector already being broken, they shouldnt have sold the ticket/let me buy $48 worth of snacks if there was no movie...AMC, youre better than this.
Picture quality good, sound good, popcorn good soda machine not so good
Food was good service was so slow and terrible. One chef and not enough help. Sunday took 1 1/2 hours to get food--not an aberration.
Seats are gross, but the sound and picture were good
Alpena movie options are slim, both theaters have bad seating and major over pricing. However they are the only places to go see a movie.
Would like to see repairs to seats ie arm rest missing or damaged, better yet upgraded seats like at a imax theater but all in all good selection of movies and price.
Love this theater, prices could be lower on the popcorn, drinks and candy.
I get that the screens are small; its Alpena after all, not a huge community. However, Wow...the place was falling apart, the seats were old, dirty and disgusting (a few dollars spent on an upholstery cleaner would do wonders for the place). Popcorn was not only cold, but tasted like it had been sitting around for a few hours. Overall a very disappointing experience. This place, like a lot of businesses in Alpena could take some examples from places like Gaylord, Petoskey, or Mackinaw City and modernize at least a little bit.
Theater needs a renovation. Sound acoustics are terrible. Ill enjoy it again when it is upgraded.
Nice setup but it really needs to be updated more.
Its a good old place to enjoy a movie. Although the seats are very uncomfortable.
Great place. Not the best seats tho
Youve refused to play many independent films and left-leaning documentaries, yet youre showing that right-wing propaganda known as Hillarys America? Shame on you; your prices are too high and your facilities too out-dated for you to be so openly bigoted.
Friendly people, good, fast and friendly service, very nice clean theater with good picture and great sound!!!!, very pleased with the up north experience!!
Nice seats, good movie choices Excellent viewing
Theatre was dirty, sold us coke that was flat. Popcorn was awful would not go back to this theatre.
I thlipped in urine and dookie at dis teater
Its one of 2 theaters in town. The staff are great.
The movie (Coco) was super. The theatre could use some updates.
The seats in the theater really need to be cleaned.
Clean
Seats uncomfortable, if you get in you will have trouble getting our! Dated and old.
None
Right wing (White trash) propaganda films have no place in a facility that is suppose to bring joy and entertainment to the community. This place obviously breeds bad attitudes and should be boycotted.
Could use some sprucing up.
Popcorn and pop is a bit pricey... But the only place to see 3D movies...
Great movies and the prices are affordable
It is close to home friendly people a little out dated but it keeps the ticket prices down.
Hasnt seen an update in 30+ years. Dont expect much except the high prices youd see at a modern theater.
Been going for years wonderful place
The seating is terrible at the very least.
Uncomfortable seating, equipment problems
IT IS AWESOMEZ
One of two theatres in alpena
