I really enjoy riding bike in this trail, it is very well maintained, the people you come across are friendly and keep their distance. Everyone follows road rules so its very easy to navigate, even when theres others walking. Theres parking, benches along the way, and of coarse the water. If you are looking to decompress after work, or get out of the house to get some air this is a nice place to do it .

The trail is in decent shape, but the driveways and parking lots have more craters than the surface of the Moon

Beautiful and so peaceful. Best place in all of the Lehigh Valley in my opinion. The river is so amazing, straight out of a book like. And the wild life is flurising and blooming more and more every year. So happy everybody is keeping this place beautiful, please let keep it this way my good people :)

The trail needs more signs, you can be lost very easy if you dont check the map, be sometimes is confusing connecting the trail along the route.

A magic place..But 20 years ago, it used to be much better.. he used to be full of people back in the 80s today it looks like an abandoned place I dont know why this city doesnt take care of it anymore but still so magical I sat on the grass and I was I was watching for a long time the little light bugs everywhere

We go tubing from Allentown to Bethlehem and this is the spot we get in from.

There was a lot a scattered litter around the river. The walking trails were much more clear. My dog enjoyed playing in the water to cool down.

Calm. Quiet. Peaceful. Good fishing also.

Nice trail along the canal. Nice to bike from Allentown to Bethlehem, however Im told you can take it all the way to Easton with no problem. Also nice for dogs.

I lived a good chunk of my life in MN and always found this place to be a nice long weekend type of area maybe once a year. I suffer a heart attack usually with the simple thoughts of Duluths insane weather, but this is a great place to visit in the summer. Its extremely family friendly, safe, and can be pretty on the right summer day. Its fun watching the small ships leave the port after you watch the bridge rise with much excitement from the crowd. Alot of seagull poop flopping around, but its nature so what the hell? Canal Park has a couple of decent coffee shops (I.E. Amazing Grace) and not much else for food. I guess Grandmas might be ok if your looking for onion rings or something simple. Not much else to eat in that area. Canal Park is also the beginning of a pleasant boardwalk you can stroll through when the weather is agreeable (again, usually about 11 days out of the year). Downtown Duluth is not so wonderful to look at, so a short skip and a hop you will be Canal Park. It would be a great place to spend a weekend in the summer.

Cool down spot for hot summer days also for jetsking and small boats

Great access to the Lehigh River, D&L Trail, and Lehigh Canal. Public restrooms usually available. The park has a perpetual litter problem and occasional car break-ins, but its policed somewhhat by the City of Allentown.

This is hardly a hidden gem of the Allentown park system. It is well hidden from the public and not easy to access by car. Amenities include a boathouse, a pavilion, and locked restrooms.More interesting is the mix of four transportation modes from the regions history, beginning with roads, and continuing through canals, railroads, and finally bicycles. A steel girder bridge, a canal lock, and industrial structures add to the visual appeal of the park.Arriving at Canal Park by bicycle on the D&L Canal towpath trail from Bethlehem is easy. Its 3.9 miles from the far-more-lively Sand Island park in Bethlehem. The trail is well-maintained by the two cities parks departments. A recent tree fall completely blocking the towpath after a storm was cleared after a report by one of the volunteer trail keepers who do patrols along the towpath.The surface of the trail is packed gravel and dries quickly after rainstorms.

A very relaxing adult & doggie trail. It is also a great place for a small birthday event.

Great place to start the D&L trail down to Easten from. Has some picnic benches under a covered pavilion with a bathroom.

Nice place to go out for a walk and enjoy nature. Although, once you get to the parking area the road is terrible, its very bumpy and has lots of pot holes. That area could use some work.

Refreshing

I go here regularly for the trail. But you must be careful; my car window was smashed a few weeks ago and my wallet stolen out of the car (no the wallet was not in sight). When I called the police, dispatched did not know where canal park was located, after giving them directions, they called me back stating the police were unsure of where the park was located. My point is: it is a great walking trail, but dont leave valuables in the car. Other than that I have never had issues on the trail.

This park is very unsafe. Im a avid runner/walker. Ive been to many trails/parks and never had a problem until I went here. I left my car alone for less then an hour and it got broken into. My window was smashed during broad daylight.

Trails over grown no bathroom, picnic area always trashed. Like many of Alentowns pack not taken care of unless it is part of the Trexler trust. I grew up here and I do not recommend be safer go to park along canal street in Northampton.
