Beware.... this is not a season you sign up for as advertised. Rather, you are signing up for a monthly program fee. The cancellation of this monthly program fee is neatly hidden on a form that you have to sign but isnt given to you. Therefore, even if you wanted to cancel, you dont have the information to comply.We were very surprised to get charged again so we immediately contacted the owner asking for reimbursement. He cited his policy, unbeknownst to us that you must provide a written notice to cancel 30-days in advance. There is no information on the website about this policy, even under the cancellation tab. We signed up for Plan A (three payments) and on the form that is sent out for registration, there is NO indication of this policy for Plan A.The agreement you sign is done so in a loud gym after practice when uniforms are distributed. This agreement does have the 30-day clause but again, not for Plan A. This agreement is kept by the owner so again, you would have no record of the policies anyway.We disputed this policy based on misinformation provided, published, and the fact that this policy exists no one else but on the form in the hands of the owner. Instead of the owner chalking it up a lesson learned, refunding us, and tightening up his practices for future consumers, he decided he would reimburse half. Im not holding my breath and to me, this is a shady practice to catch people and pocket a couple extra hundred bucks.We have been customers of the Hooplife Spring Break camps the past two years where Ive enrolled both of my children. This is the first season we signed up for and after this, we will not participate in any more Hooplife camps or offerings. I dont appreciate being duped and cheated out of money.Despite the shady practice of trying to catch people in monthly agreements the program itself doesnt even provide what it promised. 10+ games were only 7 and often we were lucky if we even had 5 players to play. One weekend we were scheduled with back-to-back games but because we only had 5 players the second game was canceled. Another weekend we were scheduled for two games. I drove an hour out only to find out that we werent even on the schedule to play at 10:45 so we had to sit around and wait for the next game. We didnt have enough players so the coach recruited players from other teams. For the amount we paid, I was very surprised. Especially since at every game the other teams always had a full team with plenty of players. My husband was told they had a tough time with recruitment this season. Cant imagine why. This experience was definitely not worth the investment, time, or frustration, especially since we invested so much and was ripped off in the end.I sent several emails over this issue but when it came down to talking on the phone he sent my husband a text telling him he didnt want to get into an argument with another mans wife. Hes not sexist, he just wants to talk man-to-man. Really?
