My son competed for Saga for about 5 years. The coaches were always kind and compassionate. He won 1st at State in his age group. They, unlike some other gyms, taught him to win with grace. My daughter, less than athletic, has been attending classes there for about a decade. She has never made the the competitive team. She has no idea. She loves attending gymnastics every week just for the fun of it. They treat her with the same kindness and compassion though she will never be a competitive gymnast.I have had birthday parties here. They are great fun for all! The kids love bouncing on the trampolines and playing the games the coaches arrange it is wonderful to be able to socialize with the other adults and allow their staff to do the entertainmentHighly recommend all around!
My kids love being part of the SAGA community.... the staff really cares for their students/athletes and the parents. Now, during these unprecedented times (our new normal) the staff has worked very hard to keep all families safe and healthy while still being able to coach gymnastics and real life lessons to their students. My kids have been able to evolved as little people and have improved their skills at their own pace.
My kids are part of the SAGA family almost a year. From day one my kids felt comfortable and confident, just like our last duty station they said. Coming back from COVID-19 raised a lot of questions, since social distance will not always be possible. [...] and they figured out! This place havent shut down since they re-opened, kids are following the new way of living, sanitation is on point. The clean after, during and before. Coaches are wearing mask and keeping the rotation process organized and 6ft away from each other. If you dont believe me come take a pick. Pop like a genie and I can guarantee you will keep your kids here.
We love SAGA. Our children have been with SAGA for the last 5 years and they have loved every minute of it. The owner and management team are welcoming and accommodating. Their make up class policy is unbeatable! The coaches are top notch and have been fantastic with challenging advanced kids while giving newer ones the time needed to learn skills. Another bonus to this gym: free, clean workout equipment for parents to use while kids are in class (AND you can see the kids practicing so no missing out on them learning new skills!). We have only ever highly recommended SAGA to our friends and family and are so excited to have one of our kids on their competitive team now!
My son has been going to SAGA for years and he loves the coaches and positive atmosphere. The coaches are professional and encouraging. Erin does a great job as the owner and coach. She keeps the gym up to date, makes sure the kids have fun and provides encouragement. The staff is courteous and responsive. We’ve had a great experience!
I have been to several birthday parties at Saga, and have taken my son to open gym. Not only has my son loved all of his time there, but the service was fantastic. The birthday parties were a blast, and the best value in town. The staff were always professional, and friendly. The gym was always clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend Saga as a fun, safe place for kids.
Our son attended SAGA for many years and had two birthday parties there. The owner is an amazing coach. She knows how to run a gym so children are coached in a clean, comfortable, and nurturing environment. Her athletes excel. Children are taught teamwork and the athletes are expected to work hard. The coaches instill in the athletes a sense of pride and belonging. There is a reason SAGA is always a winner in the Best of the City awards. Erin Rice is an amazing business woman, and an excellent coach.
Our children are both competitive gymnasts at SAGA and we have been very satisifed at the gym for the past five years. Like any gym, there have been a few issues here and there along the way but these issues have all been handled with professionalism and follow through that has showcased SAGAs committment of putting kids overall development first.SAGAs mission to prioritize the development of the whole child also gave our daughter confidence to return to gymnastics after leaving another gym as a level 6 gymnast a few years prior due to anxiety of competition. Being back in the gym has boosted her confidence, given her a new appreciation for the sport and has sparked a desire to do more. Our childrens development as well-rounded athletes on the mat as well as their personal development off the mat is because of Erin and her team at SAGA. We ae thankful and easily recommend SAGA to any family.
Ive had all my three girls at SAGA at one time or another for over 10 year. They enjoyed the coaches and the family environment at the gym. Erin is fantastic and she cares about all of the kids training at the gym. She has put her heart and soul into this gym and you wont find a more dedicated coach and owner. I would highly recommend this gym especially if your not looking for an ultra competitive gym where they would value results over kids well being.
I was a gymnast here for about 8 years and a coach for about 2 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and feel that the staff do an amazing job at providing the best training for gymnasts of all ages. It is a very friendly and supportive environment and the staff do a great job at creating a safe environment for everyone. I have known the owner for a long time and she has consistently shown such passion and care for the well-being of everyone in her business. Highly recommend for those wanting a great gymnastics experience.
SAGA is the greatest gym I’ve ever been a part of. The environment, life, and spirit of the gym is friendly, professional and fun. I appreciate that SAGA’s main goal is to be a positive influence in the lives of its’ students. SAGA through the sport of gymnastics strives to help each child become the best that he or she can be in life as a person and a gymnast. I love coaching here and am so proud to be a part of such an amazing gym and group of awesome coaches. Thanks SAGA and thank you kids.
Many of the negative reviews that SAGA has received are from people removed from the gym based on their attitude. Take everything you read with a grain of salt, obviously this gym wont be for everyone as some people are focused more on winning than actions and attitude. My boys are focused on their performance as much as their conduct within the parameters of the gym. This gym is the place for you if you want a well rounded athlete who can compete in a safe and clean environment. Expect the staff to be professional and treat everyone as they would like to be treated, if your actions are poor expect a poor (but professional) response. The managers and staff are well trained to ensure my children have a safe environment to learn and compete.
We have had 3 children enrolled in gymnastics here and theyve all loved it. The coaches have been great and encouraging, our kids loved learning from them. They all improved quickly because of good instruction. SAGA has an amazing make-up policy and the staff is always friendly to work with us for times when we need to reschedule.
I love this place so much! The coaches are amazing and really care about my niece. She loves going to her baby friends class. I love that she is able to get exercise in a fun and safe way, but also, I feel like they really care about teaching life lessons too. Even the little ones learn how to say please, thank you, and give words of encouragement to their classmates. I also love the weekly themes! I cant imagine going anywhere else and am excited for them to reopen!!!
If youre looking for a gym with well-trained coaches who care about their students as athletes AND people, then SAGA is the perfect place for you! Plus, all the managers are super understanding. I love working here!
I was a gymnast at SAGA for many years and believe that SAGA is the best gymnastics gym in the state. The owner and managers of the gym are amazing people that work very hard to make sure everyone enjoys their time at SAGA. The staff are friendly and really care about helping kids out. I learned a lot from my time spent at SAGA not only about becoming a better gymnast but also becoming a better person as well.
We have been at SAGA for 6 years now – my daughter took rec and level 1 classes when she was 8/9 and my son started rec classes when he was 6. They have this great spring classic event that both kids loved. My daughter moved on to middle school sports but my son is now in his 4th year on the team at SAGA. The staff at SAGA have always been very receptive to any concerns or issues that I have brought up and really helped my son work through some challenges early on. I really appreciate their healthy and balanced philosophy regarding competition. I also want to give a shout out to the very dedicated group of gym parents that do so much for both the girl’s and boy’s teams. My son has made steady progress both as a confident person and gymnast at SAGA and it is safe to say that SAGA has been like a second family for us these last few years.
My daughter started her Gymnastics career in 2010. She stayed with SAGA the entire time. She has loved the coaches/staff, equipment, and the professional environment. Now a cheerleader in high school she still goes back for private lessons. The staff is top notch and the equipment is well maintained and sanitized. They ensure that the students are in a safe environment (including being free of bullying).
This place is the highlight of my kids’ week! They take great care to assess each child’s capabilities and push them to grow each lesson while keeping it fun and accessible. My daughter went from being able to do basically nothing to full spilts, handstands, cartwheels, and she’s always learning something new and getting stronger. We love SAGA!
I was a Coach at SAGA for 7 years and know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the experience, love and support I received from Erin and all of the managers. They were flexible with my schedule changes throughout college and into my career. They value creativity and new ideas and allowed me to start an adapted gymnastics program for children with special needs. I highly recommend working here and allowing your children to grow at SAGA!
Its a great place, and my daughter loves it. Also, we are very thankful for the scholarship which is a great relief for us. The only suggestion is to arrange changing rooms. We have to use the restroom for changing that is pretty inconvenient. I think there is enough space for a couple of changing rooms on the second level.
SAGA is an outstanding gym. Our kids started years ago in their summer program, which offered so many activities. Our daughter went on to be on a gymnastics team and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
I was an employee over 10 years ago (!) at the old location and thought it was a great place to work. The owner and manager were very professional and kind. They created an environment in which both gymnasts of all levels and young coaches could grow their skills.More recently Ive had friends and siblings tell me they prefer SAGAs open gyms to other places because of the location but also because it feels less cliquish.
SAGA Gym is a PHENOMENAL place for children and families! Safe, clean, well-maintained, high quality equipment, welcoming and fun environment - all of this, plus exceptionally skilled, competent, and patient instructors for a wide variety of programs for youth and adults. As a teacher, I am often asked by parents for program recommendations for their children - I ALWAYS refer them to SAGA!!
We moved from Japan to Albuquerque in 2017 and were recommended to attended this gym. Although we tried many gyms in the area for our then 5 and 7 year olds, we decided on SAGA as the gym our children would attend. Its not about pushing the hardest or being the strictest, we wanted a gym that would respect our boys as athletes and people. SAGA was that gym. My kids have now been at this gym for over 3 years and we are dreading the day my husband gets orders and we have to leave. I literally cried when I thought about the gyms we would attend that werent ours, SAGA is a family more than just a gym. If you want an environment where your child can thrive, explore gymnastics with care, and experience coaches that are invested in your childs learning check them out.
The staff truly care about the athletes. They take the time to teach proper form and safety while maintaining a family friendly atmosphere. Children have a wonderful time learning and being active.
We have had several of our kids here and they LOVED it. They developed skills quickly in a professional and encouraging environment. The coaches are friendly and the owner is always willing to go the extra mile to help you out.
Saga is amazing. My toddler loves diaper dare devils. And during this pandemic they are offering classes on zoom which is amazing of them as well. We cannot wait until things go back to normal though. We miss our coaches in person. They are great people. The staff is just amazing.
I love that Coach Eagle Eyes is watching over my kids. That is what I expect from a facility where kids can get hurt. Love the discipline learned! Keep up the good work SAGA!!
Owner Erin Rice does NOT know how to run a gymnastics program appropriately! very un organized and very disappointed when i came to this gym I expected way better. take your kids to a better gym
My son loves Saga. The coaches are knowledgeable and make sure the kids are learning skills safely and having fun. Best gymnastics lessons in Albuquerque!
Amazing staff. Great with kids. Well worth the 130 mile round trip.
It’s evident that SAGA’s mission is to teach kids gymnastics in a safe and inclusive environment. SAGA staff are passionate about using gymnastics to build self esteem and character.
Great place, Awesome staff! Awesome owner and the managers! Way to go keeping it sanitized and super clean! Come Join our Gym Buddies!!
Best kids gym in the city!!!!!!SAGA is amazing they have helped my kiddo learn and grow so much through gymnastics. She is really blossoming because of this place!! We have been SAGA members since Zoey-Ann turned 4 last year we stated over the summer last June! I had been searching for a class for her for a few years everything was always expensive and just hard to fit in to our budget SAGA was worth the cost the gym it self was so beautiful the first time i saw it i about cried. We went to a demo class i highly recommend that and I knew the first time I saw Zoey go there that it was going to be a home to her. They offer a daily open gym Monday through Friday for the little kids that really is a great value its free to all members five and under. I have to say she just turned 5 and being that this was our last year for open gym we are so sad the gym is closed right now!!!! we would love to be spending a half hour every day there getting our energy out on the big blue floor or jumping in to the foam pits and working on our balance beam techniques. We miss SAGA as part of our weekly routine! Thanks for helping us make friends learn boundaries and gain confidence. we are thankful for the daily zoom classes that SAGA is working to provide for our children while they are stuck at home and We can not wait till they can open their doors for us again we want them to know that we consider them all family to us and we want to be SAGA STRONG WITH THEM for always!!!!! love, Zoey-Ann and mom.
It was amazing definitely go here there like the only gym that sanitizes
As a fellow gym owner, I admire SAGA for reaching out to available resources to continue to better their gym, the environment and the sport of gymnastics.Good luck!
Excellent gym! Staff and coaches are very engaged and very supportive. This gym practices social distancing and sanitizes all gym equipment
SAGA feels like a 2nd home, the environment is very uplifting and the space is inviting. I enjoy the couches to relax and the exercise equipment upstairs when Im not enjoying the couch. The adult fitness classes are super fun and motivating for all ages, Im not a fit person but feel good after a workout because the instructor makes it fun and rewarding. The birthday parties also are amazing my son has had several there and has a blast including parents, it fun for all ages. Erin and Nannette do an amazing job keeping the place organized and staffed. Love You all.
The coaches know how to encourage kids good at disinfecting and kids are so nice lets keep the good reviews coming we love saga
Owner is very two faced she is very rude and honestly disrespectful once she turns her back on you. Also likes to get into other people business and argue, I don’t recommend this gymnastics facility for children I would personally recommend Percision Gymnastics, G-Force Gymnastics, Gold Cup Gymnastics or Eagle Ridge Gymnastics
Was a gymnast here and did not feel comfortable and felt like I didn’t belong here I got very bad vibes from this gym so I personally would say don’t go here
Amazing staff and facility! Recommend anyone interested in gymnastics to check out SAGA!
SAGA has always been a safe and professional place for kids to learn gymnastics. The coaches care and make it fun to learn in a non competitive environment.
Was a previous gymnast here for 8 years and was a competitive gymnast. coaches are nice but owner is very rude this place is unprofessional owner and manager don’t know how to handle situations, owner erin rice and manager nanette also kicked me out for no reason not even joking i walked into practice late coming from another sport and kicked me out that day. I am now at gold cup gymnastics and like it way better over here nice Community and atmosphere i recommend gold cup for your kids thank you and have a good day!
Great coaches great staff and even greater classes
This Gym absolutely disgusted me I saw all the good reviews and thought this gym was nice. The total opposite this gym is disgusting Owner was really rude to me and my daughter DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!!
Horrible gym! Do not take your kids here! This gym really disgusted me, owner try’s to fight with little kids and argue would not recommend taking your kids to this gym
Great staff. Great facility.
I loved gymnastics growing up so, naturally, I was excited and hopeful that my 2 year old daughter would be a gymnast at some point. I never planned on enrolling her in any sort of gymnasts class until she was 4 or 5 because I thought they were pointless at such a young age. We happened to go to open gym shortly after my daughters 2nd birthday and had a BLAST. Still, I had no interest in enrolling her in a class. Fast-forward a couple weeks and my mom, who was also a gymnast, came to open gym with us. She fell in love with it and talked me into trying out a class for a month. Now here we are, 4 months later, still enrolled with no intention of dropping out! It has made a HUGE difference in my daughters gross motor skills. Her balance, coordination, strength and overall skills have grown in leaps and bounds. Shes doing things that most kids her age arent (except her buddy, who is also in gymnastics). The coaches at Saga play a huge part in this. They are absolutely amazing with the little ones and great at explaining whats expected during class. The facilities are clean and its a fun, great environment!
Horrible gym owner doesn’t even pay attention to team kids she only pays attention to her award for best women Business award don’t take your kids here!
SAGA is an AMAZING place to bring your children. Not only do they work on physical skills with your children in the preschool classes they also work on teaching life skills and reinforcing what they learn at home. They do this through theme weeks such as fire safety, vegetables, numbers, letters and fruit to name a few.The coaches are wonderful and attentive to all the students. They work with each child at the level that they need. We couldn’t be happier to bring our children here.
We love SAGA Gymnastics. My son and daughter had very good experiences there, and we took classes there for 8-9 years. Thanks for being a part of my son & daughters development!
Great Place for kids!
Staff is rude and unprofessional. Being a gymnastics school, I expected the staff to be good with kids. I was very wrong. Terribly disappointing.
Horrible equipment not safe for kids
I am a proud Saga parent. Each class has a main focus in which prepares students for the next challenge. The instructors are great with the students and allow them to independently complete the course but provide guidance and support as needed. They encourage students to push themselves and help them find the confidence to do so. Safety is priority. Each instructor interacts differently with the students, some more firm than others but I appreciate each one of them as it provides a good balance. They work well with each other and with the parents. I look forward to what Saga can bring to my child’s future.
Great owner Great Gym
(Note new location.) I booked a Junior Birthday Party at SAGA for my 5 year olds party. We were welcomed with a large sign, and had time before the party to set up. There were plenty of tables with tablecloths and chairs. Guests ranged from 2 - 9 years old, both boys and girls with varying gymnastic experience. The coaches were friendly and kept the kids busy and entertained so adults could sit and relax, or take pictures. One parent even got her work-out in during the party at the designated adult area. Coaches made sure kids washed hands before time for cake. Balloons were provided. Parents bring cake, food, favors, and tableware. Except I forgot, and the staff saved me with some plastic forks they had on hand. It was nice to be able to invite the whole class and siblings, not need to clean up and child-proof my home for guests, and have no worries about occupying the children. Thanks for a low-stress, super fun party.
My daughter absolutely has a love for gymnastics again and cant wait for Tuesday class to roll around. She loves that her instructors are super nice and attentive and she is learning new and exciting things. We love the fact that the instructors actually watch the kids and guide them and work on correcting them with positive feed back. We came from a gymnastics school where the teachers were always checking their cell phones and joking around with each other and ignored the kids more than half the time. Thank you Saga for restoring our faith in the sport.
Great everything
SAGA is amazing.! The atmosphere when you step into the gym is fun and up beat. The coaches look happy and seem to love what they do. They focus on helping the kids become a better gymnasts as well as a better person in life.
My daughter has been coming here since her big brother was in diaper daredevils and she is now in the preschool class and loves it. She wants to be a gymnast. The coaches are very kind and approachable and I love the focus on safety.
Took my son there this morning for the open gym with parents. Its 30 minutes and kids and their parents run around and play on the different equipment. Class started 5 minutes late, no biggie I figured theyd extend it a little. Nope. Also there was a lady there running around telling people what not to do or play with or swing etc. They are toddlers, relax. She wasnt rude, but it felt like a lifeguard blowing a whistle for anything. Eagle eyes lady was the only one that was jumping on people while the other staff were hanging out and encouraging. I understand equipment needs to be used properly for safety reasons, but my 30 lb son is not going to get injured playing on rings with mats everywhere.
Ridiculous! They say they offer a scholarship yet when I applied my daughter was denied because my INCOME WAS NOT ENOUGH to recieve the Scholarship?? What a joke and how discouraging for people who actually think they have a chance.
I am relocating from Las Vegas, NV and I am excited! My two girls are competitive gymnasts, yet Erin has explained the delicate approach they take with our athletes vs competition being the main focus! I had plenty of questions for the owner and the amazing secretary. They took out quality time to speak with me and answer all my questions! That is the first step to building a long lasting relationship. COMMUNICATION is everything! My neice attends there and she loves it!I am greatful to know that there is still private owners, coaches, and staff that cares for our children. My girls will be enrolled as soon as we land in NM December 4th!
Trampolines, giant foam pits, balance beams, enormous balls to roll, open spaces to run in - SAGAs Open Gym, from 11:45 - 12:15 is a toddlers dream environment!
I love saga gymnastics, my kids go there and they come home happy spirited
This place came very highly recommended but it ended up being a very disappointing experience. My daughter went for a school year when she was 5. She was placed in a class with others her age but many of the students she was placed with were behind her in skill (scared of the equipment) so she got very little one on one attention. I saw very little to no progression to her skills. When I asked if she could go to another level that would push her skills, another class where there werent so many higher needs kids, or get additional an additional helper for her class I was just dismissed and told it would improve. It didnt and after 8 months my daughter was still unable to perform a cartwheel. Very disappointing, for as expensive as they are you should be able to see results and we didnt.
My daughter loves it here. We had a tough time after she broke her arm but all the staff and teachers have helped her a lot get back into loving it again!!
SAGA is an excellent gym with tons of great equipment. My son has gone there for two years since he was 2. I would recommend it to others.
This was the first time I went my children love it and the staff is amazing
Excellent Coaches, Parent friendly environment, they really make the kids feel confident and comfortable while learning. Our Girls really enjoy being there and look forward going to practice.
Great gym with excellent teachers and affordable prices.
My 4yr old daughter started gymnastics at age 3 in San Diego, CA. We moved to ABQ and then she had a blast playing here in SAGA. However, we wanted her to move forward since she wanted to be better like the girls she saw in San Diego, hence, we requested to be evaluated for the pre-school 4-5 instead of wasting her time with 3-year-old kids. She is able to do an unassisted pull-over at age 3 as well as a straight cartwheel but the coach evaluating her for that class was too pre-occupied with 2 of the regulars in the class (there were 8 girls and boys at the time including our daughter). She debriefed us, telling us that our daughter shouldnt be in that class since she does not know any of the terminologies. While that eval urked us, what really set us off was the fact that she was VERY unprofessional when she went to the front desk and whined about what had transpired saying the the other coaches should stay in their lane and wait for the kids to get better while we were there with the rest of the parents. That closed-door conversation should have been contained but she kept going off with the rest of the coaches even after having noticed our presence. As perfectionists, we are unbiased towards our daughter, but we saw her do better than most kids. Now, our daughter is 4 1/2 and she is able to hold a handstand for 2 seconds, learned a floor routine and is able to do an unassisted back hip circle on the bar (nowhere near perfect but unassisted none-the-less). SAGA is good if you dont care much for quick progression because when my daughter had her 1-on-1 evaluation where she studies now, she became one of the youngest Future Force.Update: 2018-2019ADDED extra STAR for actually hearing us.We must admit, we sincerely enjoyed our time when we visited your new gym for the Route 66 Classic Meet and it looks like there was some amazing changes for the better. Our daughter came in 2nd Place AA during your Lvl3 Route 66 Classic and 3rd AA Lvl3 State Championship held at G-Force Academy. We recommended your new gym to some of our friends who were interested.
I was very disappointed... the program offers a first free class which is 30 minutes long, so I took advantage of it, but when we got there the front desk lady asked me to spell my name and my daughters name at least 5 times each (first and last names) by the time she found us in her computer it had already passed 15 minutes then she asked me to fill out a form... finally when we got to be in the class my daughter only had like about 10 minutes of class... so disappointed...
Great fun. Daughter loves it.
It is great and with great workers
Saga is amazing
Very professional coaches
Amazing gym.
Patient staff, free WiFi for parents.
This gym is dirty and unwelcoming. Cockroaches everywhere. Was given a hard time about billing due to their error. Yuck.
