Staff is always nice here and the shows are wonderful. Literally never had an unpleasant experience.
My husband and I went to see the exhibit To Survive on this Shore today. It was such a wonderful, uplifting, and inspiring set of photographs and stories of trans and gender diverse folks from across the U.S. Thank you, UNM, for welcoming this important exhibit to ABQ! Hope to see more LGBTQIA+ exhibits in the future!
The current exhibition, To Survive on This Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Older Adults by Jess T. Dugan and Vanessa Fabbre, is incredible. I am elated to see such an important show at the UNM Art Museum! I highly recommend going to see it!
The most underrated art museum in New Mexico! Id give the museum 6 stars if I could.
I had a great visit! The exhibitions were very well designed and thoughtful. The museum has several different gallery spaces which allow for multiple independent shows at once.
Interesting if you like to read
This place was terrible. It was completely empty except for the 2 people who worked there. The art selection was just depressing. One of the statues looked like a lady having an orgasm on a unicorn. I didnt need to see that.
I parked in the parking lot of the building on the disabled spot but l couldnt find any ramp to cross to the Popejoy theater with the wheelchair !!! Please, where is the ramp???
Keep your expectations tempered as this is Albuquerque, and not a major art market, and youll have a great time. Not huge, but not small, as there are galleries on three floors. The exhibitions are frequently lesser-known artists, but theres always something I like. I always leave having learned something. Because of UNMs ties with the fine art photography world, you can expect to see at least one photography exhibit at any time.
Tiny but interesting. University parking (a pain)
Excellent collection of art and interesting contemporary artists.
A three story gallery in a larger arts complex on unm campus with traveling exhibits. I saw a collection of Frida Kahlo’s personal photographs. The other was photographs from the artic as used to promote conservation. Both shows were great. I went on a Friday morning and felt like I had the galleries to myself. A must for the bargain of a $5 suggested donation.
Its a cool place. Unique exhibits.
The UNM Art Museum is really nice. Its not very large but always has interesting exhibits.
I expected more Petroglyphs in the area
Never a crowd
The museum is great
Perfect place
