Experienced a nice vernissage of a photo exhibition here. Not the nicest locale, but it was a great and fun event.
Awesome
Went to a cool art opening tonight. Ive been to a cornucopia of art and photography shows around the Southwestern U.S. and Ive seen some great and some not-so great shows. This show, the Albuquerque Area Artistic Nude Show seemed alright despite the cramped space and low ceilings (its an office space)...but one thing stood out as wholly irresponsible: one of the pieces (a photographers self-portrait) had a man with an erection as the subject of the piece.Normally, this isnt considered tasteful in the world of nude photography. Indeed, many a judiciary have written of this opinion--not to mention art and photography critics everywhere. Normally, Id just roll my eyes and move on. However, there were at least two little kids running around and that made things very awkward. The space was so-so, as I mentioned its small office spaces turned into a gallery. Ill probably not be going back. Way too many great shows on a Friday night to go into a non-arts hood for a show, then drive all the way back to Downtown, Nob Hill, Old Town, or Wells Park...Where show hopping is a thing.
Bob Laetare is a professional printer and created the Artistic Image to offer classes, printing, matting and framing services, and host a gallery space.I have had multiple images printed, matted, and framed here. Their work is top notch from choice of papers used to glass for hanging in a gallery.
Great place to get high quality prints
