Great place to go for a walk or bike ride. Beautiful views of Alamogordo from atop of the trail. Also, great hiking trails as well. Make sure to have a camera and water. Also, really nice place to check out the stars at night if you live close by or park outside the gates (I noticed they never actually close the gates anymore, but its posted the park is closed at sunset)

Great little hike with the family

We walk are dog here from time to time. Over the years weve also done a picnic st the pavilion here. Covered with a grill. I dont recall any water available. Nice walk around park on paths. Many benches, and places to see the natural landscape of our desert. Theyve changed where you can park at entrance. Only on street now. Was surprised by the change. There is also an area to park up near the pavilion. Didnt notice any new restrictions.

Its a great mile circle & hiking of it to mountain

Park is awesome. Well kept up. Residents that use it are pretty mindful of need to pick up after dogs. Everyone is very respectful of the desert. Nice experience; benches along the way for those of us who need a periodic rest!

One of my most favorite places to walk. A 1.2 mile foot path (3-5 foot wide asphalt) weaves among the desert flora and fauna. Benches available if you just want to sit and take in the beauty of the Alamogordo mountains. It is absolutely beautiful and serene.There is no shade cover other than the picnic shelter. A couple of grills and picnic tables are available. Park at the park entrance and walk or drive into the park and park at the shelter. Access the path from the entrance or the shelter.

Great place to walk/run and bring your dog. About a 1.25 mile loop.

Challenging hike, view is worth it.

This place has trails that are paved and very peaceful and calming. Restrooms are there and never have any reason to feel anything but good with nature enjoy.

Only scored it a 4 because Desert conditions are new to me. So many Cacti..... #still aTexas girl with Oak trees and grass

BEAUTIFUL Great weather for a walk.

This is a lovely little park! I loved it. I was visiting from out of town & walked it several times with my dogs. Very nice, paved walking path that goes in a big circle. It took me about a half hour to walk around. Beautiful, natural desert vegetation surrounds the path, right at the base of the mountains. Other unpaved trails are connected to the paved path. It had a few benches & 1 shaded picnic area where you could stop to rest if you need to.

A beautiful quiet walk with amazing scenery.

Visiting from Georgia and we wanted to get up where there is a view to enjoy the NM sunset but the park closes AT sunset, bummer! Consider leaving it open an hour later?

I like the loop paved trail. I can run/walk/bike laps with a view.
