A beautiful park with boat access. It was my first time and was blown away by the beautiful surroundings. The lake is ringed by stunning homes and docks. The disc golf course is amazing and butts right up to the water. Great place to hike or toss the football around. I will be back when the fall is at its peak.

Interesting area of interconnecting small lakes, most open to watercraft surrounded by wooded areas with access to boating, hunting and other activities .

Rented a boat and it was well worth every bit. Fairly priced and a great family fun time. Very respectful people out having fun with the sherriffs patrolling the water

Beach is large enough to play in and keep your distance. Picnic tables are also spaced well. Swimming area is a bit small, especially with more people on the weekends, but weve never felt crowded. Main complaints are the bathrooms. Glad that they installed hand sanitizers. Dont know what theyre using though, but it smells horrible! Seems to be decently maintained otherwise. We really like coming here!

Shoreline trail is nice. Mostly wooded and follows along the lake. A little difficult to follow in spots. Not well marked. A few areas with trees down, but nothing major. All Trails app is helpful for navigation. The park itself is lovely. Beach, kids playground, picnic areas, dog park and frisbee golf.

Very peaceful with trails and beaches. Some swings for the kiddos too.

Wonderful, safe place to visit with the family. Kids always have a great time on the lake. Definitely recommend. There are picnic benches throughout. Restrooms are available near the playground. Playground seems lovely but my kids dont use it because it gets too hot... there is also a place to skateboard. Its like a skating park.. but a small version. We havent used it yet, but we plan on using it next time we visit.

This is such a beautiful area! Depending on what time of day you go, you will see different things happening. I personally love kayaking on the lakes. Others with take their boats or jetskis out. The largest part of the lake is the designated speeding area. On the lake itself is mostly residential, but there are a couple of bars and restaurants on the lake itself. Worth visiting, its a lovely area!

Clean, and love the changes since portage lakes took over care of the grounds. Great place to take the pups for a walk!

Yes I visit there we went for a pontoon boat ride had fun my kids are 9 years old twins thank God for swimming they had a blast theres a spot there where you can speed your boat theres a spot there where you can sit there and go swimming in the Deep part of the lake beautiful houses all around the lake the different parts of the like you can go see this was our first time there my twins and I we enjoyed it very much anyone want to go there please do youll see it and enjoy it too

Im fortunate to have this in my home town as a access to our beloved lake and just explore the outdoors

I love this place. Skate park swimming frisbee golf and hiking trails all free. They have grills a boating lake pavilions and a jungle gym.

Love the new dog park. Got to spend some time outdoors, social distancing, and letting our 5 month old lab pup get to see a lake for the first time AWESOME day!!

It was clean and the beach was well kept. The bathrooms were small but clean. The benches were in good condition but the grills were disgusting. The only place to dispose of trash was in large industrial dumpsters that smelled worse than a butchers bin. Over all a beautiful place with a good beach and pretty clean water. Just remember to bring foil if you are using one of their grills, hand sanitizer to keep clean as there are no sinks, and to bring bags for your trash.

First of all its free. Nice hiking trails. Scenic views and a beach. Swim and picnic. Bring your paddle board, canoe or kayak.

This park is amazing. The lake is decent. There is a lot of seaweed in it, but overall its a great place to swim and go out on the boat with your family.

Theres always lots to see and experience while youre here. Lots of fun & Lots of wildlife to see such as Fish, Hawks, Geese, Seagulls and if you stay long enough you can even see Bats fly over high in the sky its something to see.

Park was very well maintained and clean. Restroom on site at the kayak launch area was clean and tidy.Water was unbelievably clear and clean. Could see multiple feet into the water throughout nimisala reservoir.Will absolutely visit and explore more in the future

This place was by far one of the worst places to go. Very small very crowded bathrooms (Porta johns) are never cleaned. Geese poop and dog poop all over the beach. One good this is if you go for sunset its beautiful or if you drive around the park around 8 to 9pm youll spot wild life.

The algae in this place is Superbad people on boats dont really much pay attention in the fast area there are a lot of jerks I love to kayak around there decent place to go swimming if you dont mind algae

Very nice place. I just wish there was a separate part of the water just for dogs, I dont want to swim right next to a dog I dont know, also if u take an animal with you clean up after it. But the park itself is nice.

Everyone loves their beach days and portage lakes is no different. Its fun for everyone... Whether youre a swimmer, kayaker, battle boarder, Fisher or hiker its got something for you.

Free and fun place to go swimming. It is beautiful in the evening.

It was a nice park, but we couldnt find a good spot to fish from shore. From what we could tell it is definitely a fish from a boat kind of lake.

My kids and I our avid disc golfers. Portage Lakes offers a great course and you can even take dip in the lake afterwards to cool off. Plus grill up some food to refuel all of that energy you burnt off

Love this beach. Pulled up today and saw so many cars in the parking lot. Expected it to be much more crowded. As super pale people we like that theres shade on the beach.

While the water seems to be in better condition then before, the beach area always has trash littered around and the restrooms are disgusting. I wish people would just pick up their trash when they leave.

The beach is great, very clean water and sand. The water is warm in the summer. Pleanty of tables available.

Its fun and there are so many things to do there for everyone even the familys pets the dog park is the best of all the play grounds and the beaches and the boats the fireworks show up there is always so much fun to watch and enjoy

Long lake is a super relaxing place to fish, and if you have access to a pontoon boat to take a dip. Its a no wake lake, and the abundance of wildlife shows it.

Disk golf course was challenging and well laid out

I love going to Potage Lakes, but most of the boaters on that lake need to take a boating course and be more courteous. Done are very rude.

Been swimming and fishing here almost my whole life. Great place to take kids when your on a low budget and looking to get out of the house. There’s a nice dog area as well as disc golf course. Near Akron, cell service isn’t bad at all!( tmobile)

Beautiful place!! Very peaceful. One warning to boaters, the boat ramps all differ in length. Several trailer have had to be pulled out by a wrecker.

Were looking for person that drives old grayish mercedes benz with usa emblem on license plate. Hes wanted for looking at and recording kids. Were the Russians and Serbs and we cant stand such people. We will find you!

A nice state park that focuses on water recreation. The parking lots are huge and can accompany a lot of visitors, and the entrance cant be missed when driving past. Disc golf is offered here and there is at least one playground for kids too. My only complaint is that I wish there were more walking trails of greater distances than what is currently offered.

When I was there at 10am on Wednesday there were about 10 people scattered on the beach, so it was quiet and peaceful, great place

Its free and its a lake. Not too much to say. Not overcrowded. Nice playground. Grills to cook on. People are all really family-oriented. Kids love it.

So much to do and see here. Absolutely beautiful. We took a blow up kayak out and felt completely comfortable around the larger boats. Cant wait to explore more!

Overall park was decent. Could use someone to clean the bathrooms there and someone picking up the trash around there.

A decent beach and close for Akron residents. They always have 4th of July fireworks also.

The grandkids loved going there

Our family used to drive all the way up to Lake Erie to get the kids out swimming. We no longer have to do that. Now we know of a local lake with clean water, a beach, restrooms, picnic tables, BBQ pits, and more!

The dog park area was a huge disappoint for me, but the rest of the park was very nice. It is mainly for boaters it seems, but they do have a lot of nice walking paths, Shoreline trail specifically. There is a beach area with volleyball, skate park, basketball hoop, disk golf course, all sorts of stuff to do.

We reserved the Big Oaks Shelter and really enjoyed ourselves. Peaceful location in a private natural setting set back away from the beach. Nice size pavilion with electric and plenty of seating. There are large octagonal sheds with chemical pots conveniently located on site but a suitable distance from the picnic area. Would recommend and book again!

Zoey and Cinder love coming here for walking the trails, along the beach and at the dog park.

It has a dog park, nice place to visit with pet, thete is a swimming, fishing boating, and picnic area. There are Park rangers and a Ranger Station. Just do not speed are you will get a ticket on the raod that leads in and out or you might hit a deer, person or other animals.

Nice park was there for the Polar bear plunge. Excellent turn out raised allot of money for kids, I believe over$160,000!

Great park. Good for the kids and for swimming. Generally very clean. Nice playground equipment. Lots of grills available at almost every picnic table. The water warms up well in mid to late summer.
