This 1836 high-style Federal structure was the home of Canal engineer Richard Howe.

Very knowledgeable team of people. They are very friendly and helpful. I love to travel and hike on the trails frequently. They are always well managed and the scenery is majestic. Keep up the great work guys!

Not too much to see here regarding the Ohio and Erie Canal (compared to the Erie Canal museum in Syracuse, NY, which is very impressive).

If you are interested in local history this is a good stop. Free entry but you may have to get buzzed in. The structure is not original. It was relocated and built to replicate the house of Richard Howe, who was a chief engineer of the Ohio Erie Canal, 19th century. Lots of graphics and such in an exhibition about Howe can be viewed here. Friendly staff.

You can rent bikes and ride along the canal on the towpath.
