Had an excellent time at the Polar Express! The atmosphere was wonderful, I love how spacious the seating is, and affordable concessions and ticket prices are. Will definitely go back again!

Cute little place. My only reason for not leaving 5 stars is it is very much an old fashioned style of theater. No stadium seating. But the price is right, the staff is friendly, and they have tables to put your snacks during the movie. If youre a local, or like me looking for a halfway spot to meet between Boston and New Haven, give it a try.

This place is amazing. Its not top of the line by any means, its not stadium seating. But its wonderful, and feels like a traditional old school movie theater

This was my first time at the Agawam Cinemas. We went to see The Avengers End Game Premier. We had a great time. It is a nice little theatre with a counter in front of your seat to place your food on. Great idea. The whole place was nice and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The prices were reasonable and the theater and restrooms were clean and neat.

Nice Mom and Pop theater. Its a little dated but not too bad overall.

Friendly staff, concessions were reasonably priced, and was able to get tickets close to showtime.Theater itself had tables straight down each row; the picture and especially sound was terrific!We are from out-of-town so we might not be back for a while, but I hope we get to see a show again there soon :)

New digital projectors. New sound system. refurbished inside. great popcorn and $7.50 first run movies. perfect.

Worst worst place ever. Drive 10 minutes more to a better theater. Manager/owner is awful. Went back because pop was steel and she was offend. The additude I received was uncalled for. She brought my child into it and try to put the blame on me. Stated she would refund me and then refused to and wanted to call the police. So I went on line and got my refund through the app.FYI. Dont bring your purse in with you they check everyone like they are security.

This cinema isnt appreciated enough for how amazing they are. Although the movie selection might be small, Ive gone several times and never once have had a bad experience. The prices are remarkably low, the theater is comfortable, and the tables to put popcorn is a nice touch.

The best family friendly cinema with some hip events and happenings! Excellent venue, reasonably priced, and always the most fun, enjoyable time! They often have retro film showings so you can reminisce and enjoy the good ol’ days...in this case, the 80s...loveeeee! When it comes to spending a fortune at a big box cinema with that sterile, commercial vibe or going home to a comfy theatre that welcomes you like family, you know you want the latter! Agawam Cinemas is just that - comfort, quality, and keeping the integrity of the traditional cinema alive and well! Thanks for giving us something to look forward to in our movie going journeys!

The staff was child friendly not just robotic. The seating in the cinema itself was pleasant even had a counter at your seat,for all your guilty pleasures. Quality sound as well.

Supporting local business is something our family loves to do. And the Agawam Cinemas is a great place to go. Easy parking (unlike the larger Cinemas), the best ticket prices, and up to date movies. Great concessions with yummy popcorn and candy choices too. Great restaurants nearby to enjoy a date night, or a family movie night. Our family frequents often and hopes others will too.

Good local 2-screen theatre. They show the big movies and family films. Tickets are usually only $7. There are long tables in front of your seats, handy for organizing your snacks! This theatre does a really nice job with premieres for movies like Star Wars and Avengers. They run auctions and have costumed characters for photos ops.

I was able to win a free ticket to take my daughter to her first movie. It was extremely nice. The prices are great and there’s heat now! They will check your purse or bags (most big theaters don’t anymore) but they’re a little locally owned theater the concessions is what they make their money on. I had a water bottle of lemonade in my purse, forgot I had it, and I was able to leave it in the car and got back in no problem. Great place for a childs first movie!

If I could give negative stars I would!!!! My 8 year old autistic son and I went in to watch lion king yesterday. He had a little zip lock bag of his animal crackers with him. Everything was all good, I paid for 2 tickets and we went and sat down. We were the only 2 people in the theater and about 5 minutes before the movie started some teenage looking kid came up to my son and said he was gonna have to confiscate his crackers until the movie was over. There were about 10 little crackers in the bag. (I already bought a popcorn and a water.)I told him about my son and said please if he can keep his crackers. He told me no, that I cant bring any outside food in. I could not believe this!!!!! The movie hasnt even started yet!!! We got up and went to see the manager but she was absolutely the worst!! She was telling me that I broke the rules and telling me what kind of parent sets an example for there kids by sneaking food into a theater. I couldnt believe what was being said. I asked for my refund back since the movie hasnt even started yet. I never got my refund back!!!! This was the first time I had been to the agawam cinemas and it was the last!!! I took my son and his animal crackers to rave cinemas in west Springfield and saw the lion king happily. Agawam cinemas is a joke. I just moved to agawam and Im a big believer in supporting local businesses but never will I ever support agawam cinemas. You are a joke you lier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This company treats their staff like garbage and have spread lies in order to inhibit them from finding employment elsewhere. Do not give them your business, when they cant even give their faithful and hardworking employees both the respect and hours they deserve. If I could give this business negative stars, I would.

I really appreciate having a local independent first-run movie theater which somehow manages to charge a mere seven bucks for a flick. The screen is perfectly large enough for the room, the concessions are old school, and the staff is wonderful. Keep it local when you can.

Great prices... but not so great when I get charged the $6 for a SLEEPING 9 MONTH OLD.. and then when she finally woke, I was told they have no changing table. How you gonna charge me when I cant even change the baby you made me pay for?!

It is a nice place. Good prices. Charming. A warning though, they check your bags, purse, etc. So you cannot bring any kind of snacks into the theater.

Current movies on a large screen. Seats are uncomfortable and I dont like to hear people eating from the table in front of you. I like to support this new owner so it doesnt close. It is convenient for locals who dont want to drive far. Cost is good.

Theres only two screens, so theres only two movies at a time, but usually theyre the two movies you wanted to go see. The best part is the price! Its the price movies should be. Going with your entire family doesnt empty your savings account. Is always clean there too! If there were 6 stars, Id rate it that.

Great experience! Its an old theatre, but it was a great experience!

Went to see a movie and upon arriving at the scheduled time the movie was to start, the actual movie had already started! When asked why they didnt have previews the worker said there were previews, but started before the listed starting time. Meanwhile we drove 40 minutes to get there and opted not to see the movie, since it already started! When I spoke to manager the next day, was told that sometimes they dont have previews. Well, never heard of that, BUT the worker had told us there WERE previews, and they had started earlier than the scheduled time and he didnt know why. Was not offered any sort of compensation for our inconvenience. Such as: returning and getting in for a discounted rate, a free ticket, free popcorn on next visit..anything to show a little sympathy for their error! RUDE

I went here to see Finding Dory. Its a small theater, with only two screens, but its very clean and tidy. The seats are comfortable, and theres tables for dining. Prices are great too! Definitely recommend coming here!

Seating has a counter in front of you for your snacks and stuff

The theater looks great and is very comfortable. The upgrades to the building are evident and make it a much nicer experience. I will say though that l was shocked when they checked my purse for contraband (outside food and beverage). They made me empty my water bottle before entering. (I am currently nursing my infant and constantly carry water with me and simply forgot it was in my bag.) So be prepared for them to search your bag before entering. Personally l dont think l will return solely for this reason... Checking my bag is a bit too far for my liking.

This is by far my favorite movie theater! Me and my family, as well as friends, have been going to this theater for ages. The tickets and food are at affordable prices, while also having the best popcorn in town! The staff are always friendly and helpful, and everytime I go I really never notice any messes on the floor. I love the fact that you sit down and there are tables in front of you to place your items on. I never really liked having to hold a large popcorn with all my other snacks in my lap, so this makes it easier! The theaters are a good size, and I can see the screen well no matter where I sit. The owner Kim is really awesome and there are constantly opening premiere events being held. Youll find cosplayers, raffles, auctions, and other family friendly activities! Ive been to a few of these and it is always a good time. Not to mention this is a local business! Definitely support it! Ive never had a bad experience with this cinema and they do their best to make sure you have a satisfactory experience. If youre in the area, and feel like seeing a movie, Agawam Cinemas is the go-to place for it.

Great theater. Almost always an adult movie and a kid movie showing so you have an option. Seats get a bit uncomfortable after the first hour but a fair trade to see a movie in a quiet, clean theater.People complaining about them checking bags for outside food is silly since we all have known since we were kids that you arent supposed to bring outside food in to a movie theater. If buying slightly overpriced snacks keeps tickets at 7 bucks for first run movies at a local small cinema, Ill spend the extra dollar on a snack.Id like to see them offer classics once a month or so. Weve all seen Jaws but it would be great to see it on the big screen.If youre going to the movies, make it local, make it Agawam Cinema.

Nice place, wish they were busier as the staff was friendly and helpful. The place is MUCH cleaner now that theres new ownership. Ill be returning. The prices are 1/2 that of a huge chain and Id rather support small business.

The price is right, concessions are reasonable and with variety, and the staff is very friendly. The seats are comfortable and the picture and sound quality are great. This is my first choice to see all movies... So long as it is playing there. Therein lies the only negative - only 2 screens so movie selection is limited.

Love it here, nice hometown cinema. Concessions and pricing are cheaper than at the multiplex and they are far less crowded, which is important to me because I hate overcrowded theaters with too many obnoxious guests. Love that they play old school films too.

It was small and cute like old-fashioned mixed with pop culture, what I didnt like was the one stall bathroom.

Excellent revamp of the old Agawam Cinemas. I love the table in front of each row of seats... It makes it feel much less crowded and there is less concern about possibly spilling. The theater was very clean as well.

At the beginning of the summer I had a day out with 4 of my 6 grandchildren which ended with Agawam Cinema and th newest Jungle Book movie. I was impressed with the snack bar options. They all chose a movie snack box which included popcorn,candy and soda for $5.00. The seats were spacious and comfortable and I loved the table in front of us. Cant wait to go back and watch Petes Dragon.

Its an old cinema in need of a lot of TLC, but for a place where you can go and see a movie, buy a large soda (or coffee!), and a large popcorn all for about $10.00! The staff is very friendly and do whatever they can to make your movie viewing a pleasant experience. Also, they are right next door to a local pub, a good pizza place, a McDonalds, and a Dollar Tree store where everything really is only $1.00. What more could you ask for?It is only fair that I update this review since the cinema is under new management and has had a great deal of work done. The TLC that was long-needed there, has now been given and it is a much more comfortable venue. Pleasant staff and comfortable setting give this cinema 5 stars for most-improved small town family cinemas!

A great, affordable local alternative to the mega plexes.

The owner is going through patrons pocketbooks, and bags. The reason is shes checking your bags for water, soda etc... This is not a safety check for weapons. This is against the law and invasion of privacy. They need to stop doing this immediately !
